Young Pyromancer
and a few Izzet Wizards maintain pressure and control the tempo from early stages. Most games are won with a flipped
Delver of Secrets

Lightning Bolt
's between Bolt,
Wizard's Lightning
and
Snapcaster Mage
.
Vapor Snag
and
Thing in the Ice
are crazy useful and are for both bouncing threats, upping prowess, and most importantly bouncing
Snapcaster Mage
back to the hand.
The sideboard is currently in the works- I have a tailored sideboard option for FNM but the sideboard is currently 3 and 2 of's of creatures I swap in depending on the situation and for playtesting. Usually, I will drop
Soul-Scar Mage
if there are no big creatures (
Tarmogoyf
,
Thalia's Lieutenant
,
Hollow One
etc.) which are the decks it really shines against. Not bad against control- but
Thing in the Ice
is a much, much faster clock.
I'm not sure where
Bedlam Reveler
is strongest- but it's never really weak.
Adeliz, the Cinder Wind
and
Enigma Drake
round out the air force and are usually swapped in where the
Remand
and
Logic Knot
's are weak- namely humans and spirits (
Aether Vial
).
The biggest recent advancement was when I figured out that
Flooded Strand
can fetch
Steam Vents
and costs $60USD LESS than
Scalding Tarn
- AND allow me to setup a transformative Jeskai sideboard featuring
Path to Exile
Lightning Helix
which are so so good.
Siren Stormtamer
is the CLUTCH update- it gives you great flexibility against burn, is a 1-drop Wizard, and can stop everything from a
Liliana of the Veil
edict, anything that targets you such as
Collective Brutality
,
Lightning Bolt
- hell it even stops a
Reflector Mage
bounce dead in it's tracks. It's so good primarily that it gives most opponents tunnel vision- and if it doesn't it counters their strategy. value++
