Maybeboard

This deck is out of Beta Phase and has a more refined game plan. I made this deck mostly with the Rakdos Guildkit but much of that is gone now. This deck aims to kill enemies with one of two game plans: A Causing widespread damage across the board with multiple mass damage effects, especially enchantments like Havoc Festival or Pyrohemia backed by Fiery Emancipation to wihttle down life totals and B using said damage in combination with Rakdos, Lord of Riots to play massive expensive late game closers that end players in a turn or two. Fighting tooth and nail not to just turn this into a Rakdos flavored Eldrazi ramp deck, but it gets harder and harder with every little improvement I make. I am going to shell out the cash for a Kozilek, Butcher of Truth down the line. I downsized on spot removal as I often overdo it when creating a new deck. Turned several into Drain Effects so I can replenish life lost to my own spells. Consume Spirit, Soul Burn and Gray Merchant of Asphodel allow me to keep ahead of my own damaging enchantments. Considering a lifelink or 2. I added Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger and stole Chainer, Nightmare Adept from my Anje Falkenrath Precon. Had Vial Smasher the Fierce sitting in my binder and said why not? I also realized with several Indestructibles (Both Ulamogs', Hazoret and Mogis) that Mutilate might not be as beneficial a board wipe as I thought for this deck so I added my recently acquired Damnation, (thank you Time Spiral Remastered box.)
The Maybe list is vast as I look at how I where to take this deck. Not sure I have the numbers to made Hecatomb orCabal Coffers worth running. Can't tell if Furnace of Rath is taking too much of a risk of getting bitten by my own cards. Also considering political cards so I don't get Hated off the table like Mana Flare or Howling Mine. I might buy another Phyrexian Arena but all the added Graveyard shenanigans have made Necropotence an ill advised addition. I might do what I did for Kaalia and add Vilis, Broker of Blood Ideas are appreciated. Update: I removed Avaricious Dragon because I never actually want to play it in game, it almost always just sits in my hand. I also took out Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor because I'm never in a good position to attack with such a small creature, I want to hold back in the early game so I swapped them out for Anger of the Gods and Jeska's Will.

I had my friend Drew over for a day of Magic and the centerpiece was his Mono Black Chainer, Dementia Master deck which he wanted to try out against a live target. Unfortunately for him, the first deck I chose was Rakdos, Lord of Riots. I won 3-0 and each was a pretty sound victory. Half of his strategy is to gain life to pay for Chainer's ability. I managed to get one or more of my Player Cannot Gain Life cards each game. I actually played Stigma Lasher on turn 2 of game 1 and hit him on turn 3. That more or less set the tone for all 3 games. Despite being a huge fan of Kaldheim, he hasn't discovered Feed the Swarm yet so I knew he could do nothing against Havoc Festival and Sulfuric Vortex. With half his gameplan in the garbage, he had nothing to stop me from dealing bits of damage to cast Rakdos, reduce cost into bigger things and then finishing the game a couple turns later with Eldrazi Titans. Game 3 he actually managed to build a decent boardstate but I whittled him down with a very cruel Xantcha, Sleeper Agent. Every time he used Chainer's ability I would trigger in response, effectively taxing him 5 life every time he used Chainer's power (and drawing a card). He played well and against other decks, it was much more competitive, but this matchup was a bust. My deck is designed to combat life gain and that severely hurt his deck's effectiveness. Life link and life gain triggers meant nothing which turned most of his creatures into vanilla attackers and blockers.
