WITNESS ME!

#1 Kokusho deck on Tappedout!

This deck is meant to take your opponents by surprise. If anyone asks why I'm running a reanimator deck without Mikaeus or Chainer as the commander, then it's already doing its job. People will get the initial idea that all I want to do is sacrifice and resurrect Kokusho as often as much as possible per turn without giving any extra through to what else I might be able to pull off with all of the other creative synergies and combinations I've crammed in.

Even though I've engineered this deck to be as cruel and competitive as possible, this deck is does better with pods and players that appreciate games that last a little longer. A victory, or at least, a winning strategy should be established by turn 6 or 7. If you feel the crushing need to win anywhere within the first and third turn, this is not your cup of tea. 'I Live! I Die! I Live Again' has the capacity to lock things down or even win fairly early, but not as consistently as Tier 1 or 2 commanders out there. Kokusho hovers between the third and fourth tier. I will implore you to to wipe any idea out of your mind regarding this dragon's capacity to indiscriminately punish or win against commanders listed in the highest categories.

Strengths: Kokusho shines brightest when it comes to managing creatures on the board and, o b v i o u s l y, the graveyard.

Weaknesses: Being mono-black, this deck is nearly powerless against enchantment and artifact shenanigans. It also has to sit back and tolerate most instants and sorceries thrown at it. Anything that punishes graveyards or prevents lifegain is especially painful. Table politics do a better job at managing these problems than the deck itself.

I think it's really incredible how you can think that you've explored every corner of deckbuilding for your flagship commander believing that what you have built is virtually as strong as you can physically make it only for something to come along to push the boundaries of your potential even further. I aim to keep making new discoveries and expanding the horizon of possibilities of this deck for myself and anyone else that takes the time to appreciate this.

With that being said, from here forward, I not only want to mention the cards that will be coming out of the deck and their replacements, but to also catalog the full decklist of the former complete build for both the sake of keeping track of how things evolve over time and just in case I somehow mess something up and maim the functionality and flow of the deck. I'm afraid the original and first edition of 'I Live! I Die! I Live Again!' is long gone, so let's let this list below be the first landmark.

Creature (18)

Sorcery (11)

Instant (7)

Artifact (16)

Land (35)

Enchantment (13)

Please don't mind how messy my sideboard and maybeboard are going to be for a while. There's A LOT of stuff I want to consider, explore, and experiment with.
