Enchantment (1)

"Aristocrats" style Saproling token deck. Slimefoot creates a large army of saproling babies and then sacrifices them for value. It's focused on ramping, spitting out tokens, and sacrificing them for life drain. Purposely stayed away from most of the older spore counter thallids as they work far too slowly. Utopia Mycon, Psychotrope Thallid, and Deathspore Thallid make the cut as free to activate sac outlets that either ramp or act as removal. Please offer feedback and vote if you like.

Slimefoot makes saprolings, but they are a little expensive at per saproling baby. The deck includes other token generators to speed up production. Here are the token generators:

Verdant Force + Tendershoot Dryad: Incredibly fast token generators in the deck, spitting out a saproling each upkeep. The anthem effect on Tendershoot Dryad can be a win condition in its own right. As creatures they can be reanimated with Dread Return and Victimize which are in the deck.

Mycoloth: On the fence about this one. He's obviously incredibly powerful if he survives a turn cycle to pump out a bunch of saprolings. The fact he's such a threat often makes him a target though. Testing him out.

Jade Mage: Even at she spits out tokens a bit more efficiently than Slimefoot. She is cheap to cast herself.

Sporemound: Easily makes saprolings with lands entering the battlefield. It's easy to build up an army with all the land ramp in the deck.

Scatter the Seeds, Spore Swarm, and Sprout Swarm: Normally I'm not a huge fan of one-shot sorcery/instant token generation in Commander as they don't offer repeatable value. However, each of these spells creates tokens more efficiently than Slimefoot. The convoke on both Scatter the Seeds and Sprout Swarm is great as existing saprolings can be tapped to help create more brothers and sisters. Sprout Swarm has buyback which gets around the one-shot nature of typical instants and sorceries.

Necrogenesis + Fungal Plots: Scavenge through graveyards to create saprolings cheaply. I took out Night Soil because sometimes having to exile 2 creatures from a single graveyard proved to be a hurdle compared to these two.

Deathspore Thallid, Psychotrope Thallid, + Utopia Mycon: As mentioned in the description, I stayed away from most of the spore counter old-school thallids as they generate saprolings so slowly. These two act as free sac outlets though and offer card draw, removal, or ramp. Very cheap to cast too.

Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, Saproling Symbiosis, + Second Harvest: Token doublers that quickly amp up the number of saproling babies.

Slimefoot's opponents aren't going to just sit back and watch our beautiful babies grow. We need to be able to disrupt their plans as well as recur some of our threats that they remove.

Recursion

Eternal Witness, Regrowth, and Dread Return: The deck has a small recursion package to help bring back key pieces of the deck. Cards like Tendershoot Dryad, Parallel Lives, Ashnod's Altar, Mycoloth, and Blood Artist are so important to the deck's functioning that I wanted to have some ways to bring them back if they get removed.

Removal

Pernicious Deed: acts as a rattlesnake, making opponents hesitant to cast their threats in case they all get blown up. This card acts as a massive reset button because of its ability to blow up artifacts and enchantments too.

Toxic Deluge: just a cheap black boardwipe staple.

Decree of Pain: with all the saprolings that this deck pumps out, Decree of Pain can net a huge amount of cards.

Putrefy, Beast Within, Krosan Grip, Hero's Downfall, and Go for the Throat: flexible instant-speed removal.

Deathrite Shaman and Bojuka Bog: help to shut down opponents' graveyards.

Golgari Charm: very flexible in that it can regenerate our threats, remove an enchantment, or can act as a mini boardwipe against other token decks.

After spitting out oodles of saproling babies, Slimefoot eats them for value...yum! Blood Artist, Falkenrath Noble, and Zulaport Cutthroat help speed up the life drain. Several sacrifice outlets help offer value for sacrificing Slimefoot's children:

Westvale Abbey  : Easily flips into a giant, indestructible, flying beater for the low cost of feeding him 5 saproling babies.

Ashnod's Altar: Sacrifice outlet staple that gives per saproling sacrificed which can be spent on more saprolings. The altar infinitely combos with Parallel Lives. I'm personally not a fan of infinite combos but these two cards are too good to leave out. I try to avoid combo-ing off though.

Viscera Seer: Another sacrifice outlet staple that allows us to dig deeper into the deck.

Utopia Mycon, Psychotrope Thallid, + Deathspore Thallid: Mentioned above as free sac outlets that slowly generate saprolings themselves.

Fungal Plots, Thallid Soothsayer, + Vampiric Rites: These three all offer card draw for eating the saproling babies.

Skullclamp: This card is bananas in the deck, very quickly digging into the deck.

Grim Backwoods: This land is fairly expensive to activate but as a land it's quite low opportunity cost to run.

Altar's Reap, Costly Plunder, & Diabolic Intent: One-time value spells offering either card draw or tutoring for sacrificing a saproling.

Updates Add

I bit the bullet and purchased a copy of Doubling Season from Battlebond. Its price was starting to creep up. This is a commander staple that I wanted to pick up at some point. Works great in here as a token doubler and helps out the few spore counter thallids I have.

Also picked up Diabolic Intent from Battlebond. A very cheap tutor that lets me grab whatever piece I need.
