Core 2021... is great? —July 11, 2020

Given the frequency that new cards from core sets make their way into this particular deck (ie, I was only playing 3 cards originally from a core set in the entire 99), I was honestly not particularly expecting Core 2021 to give me even 1 card I would immediately want to slam into this deck, let alone 3 of them, but Elder Gargarothfoil, Radha, Heart of Keldfoil, and Terror of the Peaksfoil are exactly the sort of cards I'm all about. Reworking the deck to include them also made me reconsider my planeswalker slot, and the slot that Xenagos has occupied for years is now filled by Domri, Anarch of Bolasfoil.

I love your deck! I don't own a Ruric, but I do run a Grand Warlord Radha deck, and this one looks just as fun! What are your thoughts on this guy! Oh you wanted to cast that Counterspell through the 6 damage? Sorry!

@Sultai_Sir: I've flirted with including "your opponents literally can't even" at various points while making revisions, but it's ultimately never wound up making the cut because, while very powerful, its effect is also highly variable, and is a lot of mana for something that may not actually have any immediate impact when it hits the table. As time passes I've also moved away from effects that lock opponents out of lines of play - Void Winnower is in the "acceptable(ish)" range where there's enough ways out from under it that the rest of the table is probably not entirely unable to keep doing stuff, but I'd still rather let them do things and then punch them for having done so than say they can't do stuff at all.

If you were building a Ruric-helmed deck with a more control-oriented mindset though it's certainly a strong option.

True, I guess it's better in a Grand Warlord Radha-helmed deck that can get it out on turn 5. Thanks for the quick response!
