INTRO:

Spiders! Spiders! Spiders! This deck is filled to the bring with our eight legged friends. Competitively, this deck doesn't stand a chance, but as deck to bring for standard kitchen table fun. This deck shines!

Strategies:

The spiders creature type as a whole is very lackluster most of the cards are over-costed and have minimal impact on the board. However, with the aid of a few key pieces in the deck, we are able to take advantage of combat steps and really alter the state of play. Our commander makes it so that we force bad attacks for our opponents, and make the most of it. Cards like Dolmen Gate Bow of Nylea Archetype of Finality and Assault Formation can swing the forced combat steps into our favor. What we also have are surprise combat tricks with Overrun and Triumph of the Hordes which can end the game in some cases.

We also have ways to keep our key pieces in play. Swarmyard Asceticism and Heroic Intervention allow us to keep our commander in play for as long as possible. In addition to keeping creatures in play, we have bits of recursion. Phyrexian Reclamation Creeping Renaissance and Treasured Find can bring back cards from our graveyard, and rebuild our board state.

Lastly, we have ways to buff our creatures, and ways to ramp. Obelisk of Urd allows us a means of buffing our team and has the added bonus of convoke to get it in play sooner. Urza's Incubator is an indirect form ramp by reducing the cost of our spiders by 2 mana!. Burgeoning Cultivate Myriad Landscape and bounce lands also help to accelerate into our top end more quickly.

Final Thoughts:

This deck has some fun elements that allow us to in a way control each players combat steps. All while utilizing spiders to get the job done. This deck is by no means a well oiled machine, and could benefit from some upgrades. Overall, this deck is great for new players, and is a nice change of pace. I would recommend this deck for anyone looking to bring something a little different to the commander pod. Leave some feedback below!
