Vilis, Broker of Blood

Commander / EDH Mono-Black

KraigwithaC

This is my take on Vilis, Broker of Blood, and I've been having a lot of fun with it.

The easiest (and most boring) win-con is Mikaeus, the Unhallowed+Triskelion. If your playgroup likes longer games or dislikes infinite/early-game combos, I do not recommend running them.

The best creature by far has been Blood Celebrant. With Vilis, Broker of Blood it really is just 1-mana Yawgmoth's Bargain. Skirge Familiar has also been absolutely bonkers, and really gives the deck the fuel it needs to keep going.

No, we are not using Tendrils of Agony to kill the other 3 players. Typically this deck has one big combo turn and Tendrils of Agony puts us far enough ahead to keep comboing and/or finish off an opponent. Similarly, Exsanguinate is often not going to be big enough to kill the table, but it should get us far enough ahead to keep going. Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed is invaluable in the combo turn, and him + Yawgmoth's Will should give us enough spells to win. Sacrifice and Culling the Weak are very useful, sacrificing Vilis, Broker of Blood once we've drawn our win/our deck, sacrificing Gray Merchant of Asphodel so we can Victimize him back, or just sacrificing some utility creature to kick-start our combo turn or keep digging.

Overall this deck has been a ton of fun to pilot, especially when Mike + Trike isn't available.
