Welcome to some Dimir shenanigans!
Now, dimir isn’t really being played right now, outside of some mill decks. Well, I plan to change that. This deck utilizes both control elements and tempo elements to out-value your opponent and claim victory!
Brazen Borrower
is a great tempo piece, setting back opponents and delaying for your mid-game set ups. Part of a more controlling early game, in conjunction with
Thought Scour
and
Tyrant's Scorn
.
In addition to the above removal, we also have
Murderous Rider
, because anyone playing black is playing Rider. Don’t have to say much else.
Both
Rankle, Master of Pranks
and
God-Eternal Kefnet
are great flyers and fill up that 4-drop spot. May make Rankle x3 and Kefnet x2, but I prefer the durability of Kefnet.
Now, the engine that keeps this deck going.
Benthic Biomancer
is a great turn one play, and
Dreadhorde Invasion
either gives constant pressure or blockers. Either of these with
Soul Diviner
is an incredible card draw engine, making up for the lack of
Drawn from Dreams
(I felt it was too slow, although am still thinking about it), or the
Edgewall Innkeeper
Sultai and Golgari decks may have. Also works with your top end 1x of
Liliana, Dreadhorde General
.
Order of Midnight
fills out the list, getting back important pieces which may have been removed, and giving the deck a bit more consistency overall.
Edit 1: Cut 1x Borrower and 1x Scorn for 2x
Thief of Sanity
. It’s a strong three drop which presents a immediate threat on the board. Only 2x because a bit slow and no self-protection or extra value w/out successful attack.
