The deck revolves around stalling the game until you cast Approach of the Second Sun. You shut off other decks with cards like Gideon's Intervention, Ixalan's Binding, Seal Away, and Hostage Taker. If they're a creature heavy deck, then you can shut off their creature spells, if they're combo, shut down their combo, etc. Simple removal spells like Cast Down aren't favorable in this deck, but because it's a cheap removal spell that hits most creatures in the format we play it. We eat away at any cards that might be problematic for us with hand disruption spells Divest and Duress. When we get in a tight corner we can cast Fumigate to clear their board. Our win condition is just Approach of the Second Sun however we could beat on them with whatever we steal with Hostage Taker or if they're control (like U/W Control) they can draw through their deck before the game ends (because, besides Opt and the cycling lands, we don't run very many drawing cards).
