Pir and Toothy conquer the world with the power of imagination (and card draw)!

A lot of Pir & Toothy decks are either creature-based or superfriend lists built around Pir. This kit focuses on Toothy, Imaginary Friend 's draw potential. Your plan is this:

Blink/Flicker Cards like Ghostly Flicker and Essence Flux let you both protect Toothy from removal and trigger his draw potential. If you stack triggers correctly, you can "return" counters back to Toothy for more value.

Cloning: Stunt Double and Phyrexian Metamorph allow you to sacrifice Toothy using legend rule. This does the same as the above -- you tap the draw potential and ensure future value by "replacing" your sacrificed Toothy with a "new" Toothy. Sakashima the Impostor is clone MVP because he won't trigger legend rule. Two Toothys on field is hilarious. And Clever Impersonator is your all-purpose for the above or to copy something else valuable.

If you follow the above recipe, you'll end up with a fistfull of cards to choose from or keep, if you drew into a hand-size expander. When selecting cards to keep or discard, keep in mind your two primary win conditions: Simic Ascendancy and the classic Laboratory Maniac . You have enough explosive draw to trigger either of these in a single turn, so hold them if you see them and only put them on the board if you can protect or activate ASAP.

To that end, you're running a lot of protection to keep opponents from disrupting your plan. YOu have a near-full suite of counterspells, including venerable tandem of Force of Will and Pact of Negation . The only glaring weakness (felt by every Simic deck ever) is the lack of mass removal. Curse of the Swine and an overloaded Cyclonic Rift are your only friends in this department.

It's stupid easy to deck yourself. Be mindful of Toothy's counters. If you can't roll into any of the above, you can cycle your graveyard using Time Spiral and/or perform ye olde fashioned punch to the face with a large, unblockable Toothy or Managorger Hydra .

Or you could cackle like a fool and lose the game while you draw 60 cards. Guaranteed fun.

**Added: Homeward Path and Song of the Dryads

Removed: Forest and Rapid Hybridization **

A few players in my group are clever and have realized that they, too, can profit from Toothy's draw if they just steal it. They've also realize that this can significantly disrupt my plans. So Homeward Path makes sense as protection against those pesky Gilded Drake , etc. cards.

Also removed Rapid Hybridization because it frequently sat in my hand as a dead card. I have enough counters to prevent hairy things from hitting the board, including creatures, but I don't feel that I have enough multipurpose permanent removal other than Beast Within . Song of the Dryads is a good, if not slightly slower, multupurpose to help me deal with annoying artifacts, enchantments, or creatures.
