This is a deck built around recursive, hard to deal with creatures. One of the main synergies in the deck is the ability to reset persist counters with +1/+1 counters. There are many ways to do this in the deck.

Both Ajani planeswalkers can reset persist creatures for days while moving towards their ults. Dromoka's Command can be used to put counters on creatures, serve as removal, deal with enchantments, and prevent dmg from Anger of the Gods. Gavony Township and Oran-Rief, the Vastwood is another way to get counters and it doesn't take away from the deck since its a land.

Another sweet part of the deck is Evolutionary Leap. In most decks sacrificing a creature is too much of a drawback to justify the card draw, but in this deck it can actually be beneficial since we'll most likely get the creature back anyways.
