This Dimir deck pursues atypical paths to victory, aiming to assemble an array of wizards and clones, draw cards, repeatedly tutor, and rapidly cycle out Etrata, the Silencer or Agent of Treachery to remove players. Along the way it makes use of significant disruption with cards such as Hullbreacher, Opposition Agent, and Narset, Parter of Veils supported by a sizable counterspell and targeted removal package.

The deck thrives in the mid game and uses Lazav and other clones to fill in holes required on the way to significant value engines built into creatures and atypical win conditions that it protects with its counterspell packages, recursion, and target saturation (spells such as Tergrid, Necropotence, Isochron Scepter, Hullbreacher, Opposition Agent, Narset, Parter of Veils, and Arcanis requiring priority removal). The deck is happy to draw over the seven card limit and drop cards - especially lands - into the graveyard where they can be recurred. Similarly, discarded creatures become readily recurrable through the command zone, lands, and sorceries. Left unaddressed, Tergrid becomes an alternate win condition, especially paired with wheel effects. In the face of creature heavy boards, Mass Manipulation becomes a late game 'hail mary', as the creature heavy deck is light on board wipes or mass removal.
