It's been over six years since i've updated this. Time to get back in the game. I wanted to bring a fresh spin on red and green so I decided to run Mrs. Wort, the Raidmother in an almost completely instant/sorcery based deck built around her. I think the buy-in into the Commander format can be daunting for new players, so I want to provide a fun, unique, and cheap option for anyone wanting to join the game or be on an even power level with those that are new.

The deck is very control/combo oriented with a large amount of field disruption. I tried to avoid Storm desperately; storm, obscenely large amounts of mana, and long turns makes for a snoozer of a match. As for long turns, sometimes this deck takes a while for its turn to resolve because of tricky rulings and targeting sequences, but that's the nature of the beast. Try conspiring Decimate, achieving all eight targets, and convincing the person with the targeted Commander's Sphere not to sac it so that the other three threats are gone.

The two ways that the deck wins is by classicly copying a huge Fireball like effect into our opponent's faces or using one of our many "Polymorph" effects (such as Transmogrify) to combo kill with Rionya, Fire Dancer and Kalonian Hydra. Besides that, the phrase, "He got a lot of value out of that" must be spoken every time you do, indeed, get a lot of value out of "that" (whatever "that" is). This deck is surprisingly and subtly graveyard-centric. It's a blast to play if you like janky decks, a slow build, and epic value out of cards.

Want to go cheaper? Remove Benefactor's Draught, Heat Shimmer, and Kalonian Hydra and replace the latter with End-Raze Forerunners. I switched to Kalonian Hydra because the budget permitted, and the math is A LOT easier. Or just add Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Zealous Conscripts if you wanna do boring inifinite.

Suggestions below might break the $100 budget.

Want to improve your win condition? Replace Rionya, Fire Dancer and Kalonian Hydra for Purphoros, God of the Forge and Avenger of Zendikar.

Want more storm and fast mana? Include Mana Geyser, Seething Song, and Jeska's Will.

Want someone to hate you? Add Plow Under.

Favorite cards in the deck? Rishkar's Expertise, Decimate, Volcanic Offering, Woodland Guidance Howl of the Horde, Seasons Past, anything that gets me a lot of value out of that, and anything that says "as an additional cost" in its casting.

A few caveats: I have the opportunity to play more so I will be revising this deck much more frequently. There might be too many graveyard recursion cards, not enough graveyard hate, and a win condition that will typically only kill one opponent at a time. Any suggestions on additional two creature combos would be appreciated.

I hope you enjoy the deck!

Out---Plow Under, Soul's Majesty, Banefire

In---Divergent Transformations, Grab the Reins, Benefactor's Draught

Plow Under was a beautiful mistake. It was a little too unfun for my playgroup. It will be on the sidelines though. I always called Soul's Majesty a bad Harmonize. It never happened, but if an opponent kills Wort in response to Soul's Majesty then i'm boned. I should still have enough card draw to get by. Banefire was too pricey of a fireball. My playgroup is counter-light so it never mattered much.

Benefactor's Draught is very interesting. It cycles itself which makes it a Divination when conspired, it has the potential to draw more cards if my opponent is compliant, and conspiring doubles that, and, most interestingly, it untaps my creatures. My deck is so creature-light that each spell conspired needs to count, and Benefactor's Draught is almost a free-bee. Grab the Reins is something i'm tinkering with. It just seems good. If I don't like it then it shall be cut. Divergent Transformations is quite the card. It's cheap, instant, works well with conspire, and exiles which red does not normally do. It also lets me exile my creatures and transform those piddly goblins into sweet enablers! Divergent Transformations makes me want to go down to just Avenger of Zendikar and Purphoros, God of the Forge as my only creatures. Then, the instant would work as a conspired Chord of Calling. It seems so cool that if I'm going with that deck restriction then I might consider Selvala's Stampede as well. As of now, I won't.
