This is a combo deck through and through. The deck is designed to gold fish into a combo before or on turn 6 or keep other combos down while setting up for its own.

The primary combos:

infinite mana: basalt monolith / grim monolith / power artifact / rings of brighthearth

infinite turns: magosi / rings of brighthearth / candelabra / deserted temple

After setting up one of those combos the goal is to deck our opponents with Oona.

There are two themes with this update.

1: Ad Naus is a good card. These changes remove a total of 8 cmc from the deck which makes ad naus ever so slightly better.

2: I have been playing the control role a lot more than I had anticipated when I was making the list initially. The cards being taken out were not performing up to my desired standard when playing as the control deck.

Hinder: I don't like hinder to begin with, and since tuck is now gone I get to replace it with a better counterspell.

Cunning Wish: Since not everyone allows the optional sideboard rule I decided I would simplify the list and cut wish. Conveniently it was not a card I was using on a regular basis anyway and I only ever wanted removal with it.

DTT: I love this card. Unfortunately the 8 cmc really hurts off of bob and ad naus. The other problem is that I have a hard time getting 6 not crucial cards in the graveyard to delve away. FoF will perform a similar role without the added pain points of dig.

Pithing Needle: A little too cute. When it works it works well, however those occasions are few and far between. The rest of my trinket mage package is better anyway. Chalice is a 2 cmc mana rock that actually says 0 which is really nice for the deck.

Teachings: This was a hard choice for me. I knew I wanted to put necro back in, but the list is really tight and I had a hard time finding a weak link to cut. Teachings is another tutor that simply does not shine in this particular deck. It has a relatively high cmc and doesn't hit most of my combo pieces. Like merchant scroll there is always a chance this card will be added back in eventually.
