This is a budget build around the first rare I ever got when I was a kid, Jiwari, the Earth Aflame . My dad had given my brother and me a 9th Edition starter set and then gave us some cards to help add to them, Jiwari being one of mine.

The deck is meant to be a mono-red control deck semi-themed around a "Scorched Earth" policy, aiming to wipe specific creatures and important resources from the opponents' boards. We aim to mostly deal with creatures, artifacts, and some lands (no MLD).

Creatures - There are multiple deathtouch enablers, like Basilisk Collar and Gorgon Flail we can equip to Jiwari, Ashling the Pilgrim , or Ben-Ben, Akki Hermit . To help with any flyers on the board, we have Earthbind and Burning Palm Efreet . Additionally, Scythe of the Wretched lets us steal anything we kill with our creatures and Neko-Te can lock board states down pretty quickly.

Artifacts - Hoard-Smelter Dragon and Yuki-Onna act as repeatable artifact removal, taking out ramp and important pieces.

Lands - Ore Gorger fits with our spirit sub-theme to take out the fancy lands our opponents run while Invader Parasite helps punish their basics.

There are a lot of cards in the list that are "sub-optimal", but I wanted the deck to act as a bit of nostalgia for my early days playing Magic, so some cards I just added because I have some fond memories with them, both from playing with or against them as a kid.
