This deck focuses on using
Gilded Goose
and
Trail of Crumbs
to ramp/draw into big midrange threats early.
Goldspan Dragon
's 2 treasure tokens synergize very well with creating or using food tokens, helping fuel
Wicked Wolf
and
Feasting Troll King
.
Bonecrusher Giant
and
Soul Sear
help keep your opponent at bay, while
Llanowar Visionary
and a couple copies of
Return of the Wildspeaker
refill your hand and occasionally give you a nice finisher boost with the +3/+3 option at instant speed. Swapping in
Garruk's Harbinger
against black removal feels nice to cast on turn 2 for damage and card draw.
Shatterskull Smashing
synergizes nicely with extra mana tokens, usually making the difference between hitting two creatures/planeswalkers for 6 damage or not. At the very least, it's a red source you can bolt in and use a food token to get back your 3 life. I built this expecting it to hopefully get under all of the ultimatum decks with massive turn 3/4/5 pressure, and still be able to hold off small aggro decks with spot removal and life gain.
