With Modern Horizons 3 come a slew of new cards to boost Energy, Storm, Tron, Control and more, including some new decks. I decided to make a Jeskai Control list with Isochron Scepter (one of my favorite cards). With the addition of Orim's Chant to Modern, I felt I could make a spicy brew to incorporate the two. Control the game, get Isochron Scepter + Orim's Chant online and just don't let your opponent play Magic! This time around, we're going to be utilizing some of the energy mechanics for strong payoffs like Wrath of the Skies and Galvanic Discharge. We also have a Stoneblade package for a wincon and other shenanigans. Ornithopter of Paradise provides some ramp and can be a great target for our Equips. But where's the spice?

Spicy Fox Boi

Zirda, the Dawnwaker is our companion in this deck, which limits us to having only permanents with activated abilities, but reduces the activation costs by 2 as long as it isn't less than 1 as long as this Spicy Fox Boi is on the field. This pairs very well with the Stoneblade package and allows for the shenanigans!

• Ornithopter of Paradise + Umbral Mantle + Zirda, the Dawnwaker is infinite damage in the air.

• Celestial Colonnade + Umbral Mantle + Zirda, the Dawnwaker is also infinite damage in the air!

• Sunforger has the equip cost reduced and can play some strong cards from the deck at instant speed!

• Isochron Scepter has the cost reduced by 1, which is incredible! Cast OG Counterspell for {1}? Count me in!

• Even Kaldra Compleat has the Equip cost reduced to 5, which is a lot less exciting, but still a plus.
