Grand Creature Type update —May 25, 2019
I dumped Kefnet the Mindful for Spark Double mainly to streamline my Riptide Shapeshifter searches. Now I can name Illusion and get a clone of a legendary creature or walker 100% of the time, and I can name god and always get The Scarab God. Meaning I'll probably be naming praetor, illusion, god across three turns almost every time I hit the shapeshifter.
I swapped Glen Elendra Liege for Jace's Archivist, origionally I was gonna put Oona back in but I think JA offers a little more in terms of mill, disruption, card advantage and a chance of being a finisher.
I switched Liliana Vess for Ashiok, Dream Render I think Ashiok offers a little more by limiting my opponents than Vess offers with her slow tutor.
I also dropped Buried Alive as a combo enabler in favor of Whip of Erebos Whip offers a hasty yet brief reanimation at sorcery speeds and gives my creatures lifelink. The lifelink enhances my blocking strategy and the brief reanimation could easily end the game under the right circumstances. Reanimating the final piece of a combo or just a strong miller to finish out the game.
