Have you been looking for a competitive standard deck that costs you PENNIES? Interested in wrecking face AND being able to afford in both Paper Magic and MTGO? Looking for something that can kill Turn 3 in Standard? Then look no further!

Traditional RDW:

I have recently decided to sell my massive collection (Legacy, Modern, Commander and Standard) in order to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I held on to a deck of each format as well as my Power 9 Cube but am getting rid of everything else and starting anew. I have never been one to enjoy meta-shaping net decks. I much prefer spending hours and hours finding a deck that breaks the format (or at least my meta) and then watching it wow players as I win with "trash" cards that everyone forgot about. I built this for fun to see if mono-red was at all viable currently and was blown away at the results. Furthermore, I was blown away with how cheap this costs to make! It's definitely FNM competitive and I think we can get this GP/PPTQ competitive. Looking for suggestions, recommendations, or to answer questions with people who are working this list on their own. Please +1 Upvote and comment -- and let's shake up standard a little.

About the Deck:

This list is all about speed. Hitting hard, hitting big, and doing it with the tiniest creatures in Standard. It's typical/traditional RDW that either wins by Turn 5 or loses. You know very fast.Basically, you NEED to hit 2 1 drop creatures in your openner, so mulligan aggressively. Chances are, they'll have 1 removal (but in the current meta, not more than that) and you need a body for this strategy to work.

They will begin to play defensively and look to trade with your creatures. This is perfectly fine and is the reason we run 4x Cartouche of Zeal and 4x Kari Zev's Expertise. You have no idea how much of a blow out it is when you steal their blocker, play a pump spell and trigger prowess of Soul-Scar Mage all for 3 mana (Kari Zev's Expertise) I was SHOCKED at how good that card is currently. It is also your end all be all againt Temur Marvel and Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger.

Where I need Help:

Admittedly, I am at a loss for my sideboard plan. I have tried to go big by adding mountains and things like Glorybringer and Chandra, the torch of defiance... But there was never any real need for it. Basically, not sideboarding was almost always the best plan. I couldn't come up with any real value cards outside of Magma Spray. Whenever I play By Force they activate or their Marvel Aetherworks in response and I get Ulamogged anyway. If anyone has any kind of suggestions or thoughts I may have missed... Please share.

Edits/Updates:

05/19/2017: Updated the list a little bit. Changed the sideboard. Now featuring Reckless Bushwhacker who I am really liking in place of Lathnu Hellion. Might look at this change in the MB as well

Results:

05/19/2017: 5-0 FNM, Barrie, ON - What a debut! Insane results. Couldn't be happier. Struggled a bit with Temur Marvel. Beat him Game 1 on Turn 3 before he could Ulamog, and then got destroyed Game 2 by a turn 4 Ulamog. Lucky enough, we slogged through a long Game 3 and I won by Kari Zev's Expertise on his Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger.

05/22/2017: 3-2 Friendly League, MTGO - Still struggling with Marvel Aetherworks Decks. Lost 1 Match to Sulatai Aetherworks and 1 Match to Temur Marvel.Sultai is a much worst matchup than Temur because of the removal and Demon of Dark Schemes. Still need to get lucky, and get underneath them before turn 4/hope for a whif.
