Beat your opponent by destroying land as fast as they can put it on the battlefield.

Your goals are to destroy one land each turn AND get Thing in the Ice on the battlefield ASAP. Use Surgical Extraction on non-basic lands in the graveyard (target land before fetch lands). Then destroy their lands as you patiently bash their face in with Bomat Couriers, Snapcaster Mages, and Thing in the Ice's Awakened Horror.

Strategy - On the Draw: (If Gemstone Cavern's in opening hand, skip to turn 2 or follow turn 1 with some extra juice)

Turn 1: Play any (R) land + Mishra's Bauble/Engineered Explosives + Cast Crack the Earth (Sacrifice the artifact) + Cast Surgical Extraction (targeting the non-basic land your opponent would fetch or play otherwise). = One less permanent from your opponent's battlefield (likely a land) AND up to 3 additional fewer lands in your opponent's deck/hand.

Turn 2: Darksteel Citadel + Cast Boom (destroy your opponent's land and target Darksteel Citadel) OR Cast Thing in the Ice. = Either One less land for your opponent or Thing in the Ice on the battlefield.

Turn 3: Land + Cast Molten Rain OR Stone Rain = Either One less land for your opponent and/or one less counter on Thing in the Ice.

Turn 4: Land + Cast Snapcaster Mage + Crack the Earth or Boom OR Molten Rain OR Stone Rain. = Either One less land for your opponent and/or one less counter on Thing in the Ice.

Beyond Turn 4: Destroy land, attack when able, and flashback spells as needed.

...Rinse & Repeat.

Strategy - On the Play:

Turn 1: Fetch Steam Vents if possible (to thin deck and balance available mana) AND Cast Bomat Courier AND/OR Mishra's Bauble OR Engineered Explosives. If needed cast Faithless Looting.

Turn 2: Play Darksteel Citadel + Cast Boom OR Play land and cast Mishra's Bauble/Engineered Explosives + Crack the Earth AND/OR Faithless Looting/Bomat Courier.

Turn 3: Play land > Cast Thing in the Ice + Mishra's Bauble/Engineered Explosives + Crack the Earth OR any other 3 mana combination of "land destruction and ___"

Beyond Turn 3: Destroy land, attack when able, and flashback spells as needed.
