Theros Beyond Death new cards —Feb. 3, 2020

IN:

OUT:

With the advent of TBD, we can welcome 2 new addition to our beloved Kamahl deck! Moving from Regal Behemoth to Nyxbloom Ancient it is an obvious choice, since the latter covers basically the same role but in a much more efficient way.

Expedition Map was a much discussed cut, but after having added Collector Ouphe to the 99 I am leaning toward replacing effects performed by artifact with other similar tools (such as, for example, preferring Mirri's Guile over Sensei's Divining Top).

That's it, 'till next time! Long live Krosa!

I think Bramble Sovereign is too good to cut; I just had a game where I copied Nyxbloom Ancient, and I had to check rulings to confirm, but I was indeed multiplying my mana by 9. My Gaea's Cradle was tapping for over a hundred mana at a time.

Problem is, I don't know what you'd cut from your current list. I ditched Scryb Ranger a while ago; that card has never worked out for me. If I absolutely need that effect, I have plenty of ways to search up Quirion Ranger.

Having 2 nyxbloom is just a win more: with 1 in play you are already winning the game, definitely.

Scryb Ranger is extremely strong, and you want multiple Quirion Ranger effect in order to untap animated Gaea's Cradle more than once in a single turn. This is why I include it.

In short, bramble is extremely strong, but it just gives you further advantage in a situation where you are already far ahead. It doesn't help much getting to that specific situation, though, due to the fact that it is a slow engine and triggers very alarmed reactions in your opponents' mind's.
