Inspired by The Professor's tech on Pauper Heroes, the goal of this deck is to go tall and get maximum value from cheap creatures, auras, and combat tricks. By playing creatures with abilities like Heroic, Prowess, and whatever triggers from a noncreature spell, cheap creature buffs get a lot more powerful.

• The main offensive threats are Akroan Skyguard and Lagonna-Band Trailblazer, who have Heroic and get huge in a hurry. Seeker of the Way and Deftblade Elite have more utility, with Seeker gaining life and getting powered up when we target other creatures, and Deftblade using its two abilities to remove creatures offensively and absorb attackers defensively.

• Cartouche of Solidarity, Ethereal Armor, and Hyena Umbra are all 1 CMC and support your creatures in several ways. Cho-Manno's Blessing is 2 CMC, but instant speed protection that lasts is fantastic.

• As far as combat tricks, Defiant Strike has the always awesome "Draw a card," Emerge Unscathed offers two instances of protection each, Double Cleave can pull wins out of nowhere, and Karametra's Blessing just seems too good to pass up.

• Nothing fancy with the mana base, it just needs Plains to cast everything, Secluded Steppe to draw a card, and maybe Idyllic Grange, because that free +1/+1 counter can make a big difference.

Maybeboard

• Just a thought, but from Ikoria there are Maned Serval and Solid Footing, which combined make essentially a 5/5 with vigilance you can stack other auras onto.

• Sentinel's Eyes from THB is also getting consideration. Maybe that with Solid Footing on Lagonna-Band Trailblazer? Then slap on Glaring Aegis? Is that asking for too much to go right? Yes, but it would be sweet. Maybe you can also run Chosen by Heliod and go for a toughness matters theme...but there aren't enough effects in pauper to justify it yet.

• Daybreak Chimera can often be a flying 3/3 for 2CMC, which can just be 1-2 creatures with 1-2 auras. But then, is it better than more auras? It's something to consider.

• Faerie Guidemother seems decent. It can provide an evasive body now, or a heroic/prowess trigger now and an evasive body later.

• Native flying and vigilance on Segovian Angel is enticing, as is native double strike on Fencing Ace, though the difference between 2CMC and 1CMC is crucial. I wonder if the evasion on Beloved Princess is effective.

• Act of Heroism is great on defense, but can be used offensively just when you need it.

• Being able to dictate blocks with Territorial Hammerskull sounds nice.
