Hi everyone,

so this deck is a control deck based on the idea of Pox.

Power Level:

High Power Casual EDH (between 6 and 7; after Beeble-Scale). This means for me: no Mox Diamond, Mana Vault or Mana Crypt. Tutors are okay, because the deck doesn't win with a combo and it feels generally in the theme of the deck. At the moment I question if the Pox-strategy is in general handled well. The deck shouldn't be too oppressive, but very much a control deck. To win with combo should be hard for the opponents (because of missing resources and well used single target removals).

Some cards I'm not so sure about:

• Cryptic Command: The deck isn't used to have hand cards, so keeping cards in hand for a long time is not ideal
• Soul Shatter: good enough removal?
• Engineered Explosives: Should hit all those cheap mana artifacts and Birds of Paradise in the early game. With so many looting cards like Faithless Looting it should be possible to dismiss it anytime.
• Ox of Agonas seems more legit than Browbeat.

As player of this deck you shouldn't be in a hurry to react on the board, because if you do so, it should gain you the advantage. Win condition is the commander, Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge also comes naturally in after the first real board wipe.

Why not...

• more tutors? Playing a Tutor (like Scheming Symmetry) costs probably the 1-2 mana that is needed to cast the commander, so ideally a Tutor should be played on the endstep of the opponents turn. On the other hand are Tutor cards useful, if Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge catches them with her ability.
• X-spells are in general not what this deck is looking for (because of the commanders ability). Torment of Hailfire and Death Cloud are the exception because they are in line with the deck's Pox-theme.
• Necropotence: Life is a resource, which must be handled with care.
• Maze of Ith: I think Geier Reach Sanitarium brings in more consistensy. Also with 37 Lands it may loot some of them away in the late game.
• Scroll Rack: The handsize is most of the time not that big to get anything out of it.
