Also, I enjoy low power commanders, I think they can be very interesting. But, picking Ur-Drago over pretty much any other commander in those colors just seems silly to me. This is pretty much what I meant. Sorry about the double post!

I guess what I meant wasn’t very clear which is entirely my fault. What I meant was that there are commanders that just do nothing and that should never be run as there is already another commander that does it better without being too OP/pricey.
It’s definitly hard to explain with words but something like Ur-Drago should never really be played as there are other commanders in those colors that shouldn’t break any playgroup. That is sort of what I meant.

I've been thinking about some commanders that may be underrated or just aren't played much. I know a lot of the legendary creatures that don't see play are bad, as in really bad. Cards like Shimatsu the Bloodcloaked and Ur-Drago don't see play for a reason. So I have two questions to ask: Which commanders are so bad that wouldn't see any play no matter what (basically, what's the floor for a legendary to never see use) and what are some good/okay commanders that are underrated?
I've thought about commanders such as Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle or Tariel, Reckoner of Souls to make decks because I never see them and I'm hoping to find more ideas.

The commanders blurb are already out. Kess is from Grixis and Nazhan from Naya/Bant.
The Ur-Drago isn't from Dominaria, it really doesn't have a plane, since is something that was born at the dawn of the multiverse, while the Scion kinda manifested on Dominaria, I think.

What makes an Unplayable commander?
I'm using EDHREC'S list of Unplayable commander's. They are commander's that have less then three decks on tapped out, you can find the list here.

How does this work?
I'll randomly select a commander. I'll build the rough skeleton. You send me suggestions for weird cards for it. And we'll cut it down and ship it. Let's put the minds of the internet to the test
Why would you build around (Insert bad commander) when you could play (Insert better commander in the same archetype or colors) instead, what's the point?
First off the object should not be to just build good stuff with X. If we're building Rohgahh of Kher Keep we aren't building R/B good stuff. We're building around Rohgahh of Kher Keep. Weird drawbacks and neat side effects and all.
Because if you limit yourself to just the best deck of their colors, you limit yourself to 30 decks in the entirety of the format (Mono color, guilds, shards ect), But the great thing about commander is that there are hundreds of ways to build around one commander. I can build Zedruu the Greathearted as a prison deck, a evil santa deck, a group hug deck, Heck I could build voltron Zedruu, Sky's the limit.
So instead of simply looking at the cards and seeing what they aren't, let's look and see what they bring to the table. No matter how bad it looks. No matter how weird it is.
Plus it'll be a lot of fun.
TLDR; What's the deck already
