Swirl the Mists

Enchantment

As Swirl the Mists enters the battlefield, choose a color word.

All instances of color words on spells and permanents become the chosen color word.

Given this is intended to be a sunforger deck, you should consider Swirl the Mists and/or Painter's Servant.

Also, consider how you plan to close out the game. I'm not seeing anything here that I'd consider a wincon. Perhaps try Temur Sabertooth to turn Dockside Extortionist into a win with Aragorn's red spell trigger.

Not even close to in color but...

Swirl the Mists (change Black to White) + Teysa, Orzhov Sicon + 3 sacrificial white creatures + a single target = INFINITE TOKENS!!

Whim of Volrath, Alter Reality, Glamerdye or Swirl the Mists or the like for some of those enchantments - love the green / red hate being put to good use. Wrath of Marit Lage might also work well with them, and Llawan, Cephalid Empress as well.

If you do end up going that route, Lifetap is a must. and Back to Basics is a good follow up if you swap out to rocks and basics...

Since you are running Telepathy, Planeswalker's Mischief might be up your alley. It's slow, and it's random, but it can massively f*ck up an opponent's plan, and it draws hate away from other permanents you might wish to keep.

Vodalian Mystic and Painter's Servant (not sure painter's servant is still banned, need to check that out after this post) will help with the activation costs of your general, as will Training Grounds

Scrying Sheets. If you are running all snow islands, run this to smooth out your draws. that, and Extraplanar Lens will allow you to net extra without giving any to your opponents. I see you're already running it, so props there.

If you are running all the rocks for ramp, you might consider Paradox Engine or another untap effect like Unwinding Clock

odd one, more land dependent than color, but Floodgate can be hysterically effective to wipe fields with, as can Scourge of Fleets.

lastly, some early game protection might help - I suggest Sea Sprite and Coast Watcher for obvious reasons.

Dude! I knowthat it's not really beneficial for the rest of the deck, but you have Llawan, Cephalid Empress. Couple her up with Swirl the Mists and you have a creature lock-out :) stay frosty!

With a commander with such a unique ability, I would consider looking for some more niche cards that work with him. I can't really see the strategy (except for the obvious swords) that you are going for, since there is a lack of description, but maybe you should consider cards like these: Painter's ServantPsychic AllergyShifting SkyCards like Swirl the Mists.Even cards that have abilities like Ugin, the Spirit Dragon. Obviously Ugin, the Spirit Dragon would be easy to add here, since he is colorless and you are in mono-blue.

Nice. +1 from me. I love stuff like this that has a nice twist and uses old cards. +2 if I could.

I do have a suggestion or two.

I'd swap 2 or 3 of your counterspells for Counterspell itself. Once your opponent figures out that Swirl the Mists is such a key card, it will become a target. Counterspell is cheap, easy to cast in mono-blue, works on any spell that's counterable (regardless of color) and can protect your Swirl from discard effects, mill, counterspells, exile, Disenchant, Naturalize, etc., until it makes it to the battlefield and takes effect. Don't replace Douse, though. That's reusable and thus a great value.

I'd also swap in something bit larger, creature-wise. Your lock-down is great, but your damage dealing is going to be slow unless you manage to Mind Harness something big. Alternatively, you could swap in equipment to give you buffs. You won't need many swaps for this, as you have 7 cards that let you search and 4 that give you repeatable draw.

If you want to avoid the cumulative upkeep on Mind Harness, blue has some nice options. A couple of my favorites are Control Magic and Clone, though Treachery is nice too. Personally, I'd stick with the Harness, though. It's easier on the mana curve, and you have 4 of them.

This deck looks like amazing fun, at least until you run out of opponents who are willing to take the beating. LOL.

I like it! Poor, poor red lol. Before I dive into any suggestions, what is the purpose of Swirl the Mists? It's confusing me lol

Swirl the Mists feels good, but it only interacts with Sol'kanar and, to be honest, I don't think this will do much work in this deck. It's a really cool card though! Thanks for the sugestion, The7thBobba
