Discarding isn't much of a trick on EDH. It gets even less impressive when its a 1-trick in the whole deck.

This means that the Thief becomes a bit useless in a non-ally deck. There are better ways to see your opponent's hand (Telepathy comes to mind).

I'd cut her out for the only card she'd be good with: Blade of Selves.

You might, somewhat, enjoy Stromgald Spy if you can give it evasion (Sleeper's Robe).
