I have wanted beasts to be better for years. I love that there are niche non-beast cards that help them out like Wirewood Savage , Contested Cliffs , Advocate of the Beast and AEther Charge .

If I had to pick a favorite beast over all I would probably go with Sabertooth Nishoba . It isn't flashy by today's standards but it was one of the first cards I had the pleasure of losing to when starting out, then winning with after finding a few of my own. Played it along side Noble Panther . Back in my day a 3/3 for 3cmc that you had to pay to give first strike was more than worth the rare slot.

I wouldn't say it's the runt of the litter so much. You just have to pick a theme. The three generals pretty much tell you exactly how to play the deck in one of three ways, so it's a matter of deciding which you like better and swapping out less helpful cards for better ones.

I chose to stay with Arahbo, Roar of the World but I'm sticking with the Equipment theme. It's mostly still tribal with the inclusion of guys like Stoneforge Mystic and Puresteel Paladin, as well as some specific tutors. I could just as easily chose Nazahn, Revered Bladesmith as my commander instead, but I like Arahbo's free Giant Growth.

But since you have Mirri as the lead, she doesn't lock you into a tribal strategy, so you can totally drop in token makers like Mycoloth (who just loves all the Ajani planeswalkers), Rhys the Redeemed, and the like. Honestly at that point I'd just rather run Rhys as the commander though.

Arahbo and Nazahn provide better utility overall, I think, unless you want to try to Crop Rotation a Maze of Ith with Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist as your go-to combo. But that's my biggest suggestion if you want to remain tribal.

On that note, I recommend Fleetfoot Panther and Sabertooth Nishoba. The former has flash and can either save a creature, let you reuse an ETB, or even bounce itself for a 3cmc removal when paired with Qasali Slingers or Aura Shards. The latter is just a good beatstick with good evasion - a bit lesser known. Also, a monsterous Fleecemane Lion equipped with Worldslayer has won me nearly all my matches.

Anyway, my deck has served me well, so feel free to check it out for ideas if you want.

So first off this is a deck designed to be using very few creatures at a time. In general we're holding cats in our hand while the one on the field is clawing away. It's not meant to wide, and does simply so we can keep swinging. Therefore, we have to worry about Edicts and sac effects. But we also bounce back from removal easily.

Assault Suit is there mainly due to the Can't be Sacrificed clause. It has the added bonus of giving my biggest voltron to my opponents for them to use against each other.

I don't run Sylvan Library, and Mirri's Guile is better but I don't have that either, lol.

Fleetfoot Panther combos with Qasali Slingers or Aura Shards by bouncing itself. It can also let me reuse the ETB effects of Nazahn or Stoneforge Mystic. Lastly, if I need to bounce a creature to save it from dying, Pather's flash lets me do that. He's just a better cat than others out there.

Sabertooth Nishoba is nothing more than a finisher, and of the 6 CMC finishers out there I feel he's better than most. Also, I've had him since his release and never used him. Now I finally get to, and isn't that really what EDH is all about?

I run Skyhunter Skirmisher, which has evasion. It may be missing the Embalm, but I think the flying makes it better.

Hey Valius,

Nice deck. +1. Fellow Arahbo, Roar of the World player, Arahbo, Xeanagos... for Cats

I like the Staff of Domination and Selvala, Heart of the Wilds combo, it's nice that it makes any color, I know you have White Sun's Zenith for to use the mana, but have you thought about Rhonas the Indomitable can just mass pump the entire army (since Arahbo, Roar of the World can only do each cat once. I was trying to do something with Karametra's Acolyte and Temur Sabertooth but might be something there with Selvala, Heart of the Wilds but I dont play too many huge guys in my build, so I might be giving away more draw.

Ancient Den and Tree of Tales very smart with Puresteel Paladin adding them to my 99. Surprised you don't take advantage of Adorned Pouncer, he has double strike built in, would be really cool with the Voltron feel of the deck.

Is there a combo with Fleetfoot Panther that you have. He's definitely good 3/4 for CMC3, but his return ability could be utilized, i've tried looking for some combos but found nothing that is strong enough.

Sabertooth Nishoba is a little surprising, I get your point the built in trample and pro is good, and 8/8 with the pump, but he's still CMC 6 for a 5/5.

Sensei's Divining Top I worry about because it doesn't do anything with Sylvan Library in play, but a CMC1 artifact is good in this artifact centric type build.

Assault Suit also seems high CMC4 and High equip 3 for Haste and +2 only. Would something like Haunted Cloak not be better? and gives trample as well, or does the +2 break its feasability?

What are your thoughts on Sabertooth Nishoba and Fleetfoot Panther? I love the protections on the former, and the flash/bounce effect of the latter.

Bought the cards, made the edits, swapped out Temur Sabertooth for Sabertooth Nishoba.
