Release the Ants

Instant

Release the Ants deals 1 damage to target creature or player. Clash with an opponent. If you win, return Release the Ants to its owner's hand. (Each clashing player reveals the top card of his or her library, then puts that card on the top or bottom. A player wins if his or her card had a higher converted mana cost.)

Thank you for the recs SufferFromEDHD!

I thought about Death Spark but wasn’t sure since this deck isn’t very creature heavy, might still try it out.

Release the Ants similar reason, relatively low CMC of this deck, might be worth considering though.

Lava Dart I like, just so hard to cut stuff at this point!

For Looming Spires and Teetering Peaks I avoid lands that come into play tapped, I also like that this deck is just all Mountains.

Akoum Hellkite is too expensive to play unfortunately for what I’m going for.

Cinder Pyromancer is another good maybe!

I had Defiler of Instinct originally but it mostly ended up sitting in my hand so I cut it.

Keldon Marauders is cool but I’m trying to keep more towards instants and sorceries.

Thanks again!

Death Spark finally found a home! Made for this God.

Release the Ants built in Buyback.

Lava Dart Gutshot #2

Looming Spires and Teetering Peaks to squeeze out a few extra points of damage.

Akoum Hellkite budget version of Valakut.

Cinder Pyromancer Budget version of Goblin Sharpshooter

Defiler of Instinct ramp and consistent damage.

Keldon Marauders a lot of damage for very little.

Hey, nice budget upgrade of the precon. Good upgrade of Kiki.

Budget cards to consider adding:

Cards to consider cutting:

Examples of some changes to consider:

  • Jungle Shrine > Jungle Hollow
I'm guessing you meant to type Shrine instead of Hollow since Hollow is not a legal card in Naya colors.

  • Breath of Fury or Zealous Conscripts > Burning Anger
Fury or Conscripts are win condition combos with either Ghired or Kiki, they will have a lot more impact than Burning.

  • Quartzwood Crasher > Desolation Twin
Crasher at five mana can be repeatable Dino tokens that can be 10/10s or higher that have trample. The 10/10 Eldrazi that Twin creates is not good enough for 10 mana.

  • Ogre Battledriver > Samut, Tyrant Smasher

  • Congregation at Dawn or Shared Summons > Vivien's Invocation
Invocation at seven mana can miss in the top seven and not reveal a creature. Dawn at three mana or Summons at five don't miss.

Good luck with your deck.

Thanks RagnarosTheFirelord! I also tried Omniscience as my 'only permanent', but it's so unstable and unreliable build. In Omniscience build, we have nothing to do when we exiled all our win-outlet with Illuna, Apex of Wishes mutate trigger. If you want to prevent that, you want that win-outlet in my hand. Yes, you gotta find that to win. In this build, you need to tutor only 1 card, which is Thassa's Oracle. but in Omniscience build, I don't think there's any card that '2-card combo's with Omniscience and win right away. Release the Ants needs another high cost card, which is techinically 3 card combo, Enter the Infinite? Nah. and so on. Then what? You need to tutor 2+ cards, which is hard on Temur color and will extremely slow down the deck. Also, What if the Omniscience got into my hand? The deck will get 1 more task, putting back Omniscience in the deck, While already having hard time finding for win-outlet anyways. So I just use Thassa's Oracle and use Illuna as Demonic Consultation, Tainted Pact, and Divining Witch effect.

I thought this was gonna be a modern take on the Release the Ants deck.

But I'm down with shadow.

Firebones675 There are other cards as well you need to play around, Containment Priest was just the one off the top of my head because that was always a threat. There will be times you need the combo win however.

Anyway, for a wishboard, I would always go Release the Ants, Eladamri's Call, Electrickery, Firemind's Foresight, Surgical Extraction, Split Decision and maybe Kozilek's Return. Call fetches up a wincon if you need it for SnTing. Electrickery clears the board of elves/weenies. Foresight fetches up Brainstorm, Wish and Daze, to help sculpt. Surgical is obvious. Split gives you more ways to force a SnT through, as well as letting you play tricks. Return at 3 mana can be a little much, but the 2 damage generally is pretty sweet. On top of that, you can have REB/BEB/Pyroblast/Hydroblast as a 1 of whichever you want, Vandalblast or Shattering Spree and it only takes up 8-9 slots, meaning you can have Sneak Attacks.

You need Release the Ants, and Wirewood Symbiote is fun, bit too old to be modern legal. If you're going casual, Wirewood Hivemaster is awesome. Ant Queen, and Hornet Queen are great. Fire Ants are horrible but fitting. Hornet Nest isn't too bad, and Skullclamp is also fun.

You need some kind of fetchland for Brainstorm. Brainstorm is only good with a shuffle effect.

And the red means you can using Firemind's Foresight, and other important sideboard cards, as well as Release the Ants as a win con. You only need like 1-2 basic mountains.
