Couple quick changes you will want to do is to take out the Aetherflux Reservoir and the Modules. The reasoning is that the Aetherflux relies on your ability to chain cast to be effective and you run too many high cost cards to do so. The reason to pull out the modules is that you aren't running any energy cards or counter cards to trigger them. You would need the third module at the very least so you can get the other two to start functioning, I recommend an entirely different deck layout to do that since you have nothing that uses energy.

I would also cut Welder Automaton and Pursue Glory as they do not add much to the deck idea in general.

In place of these artifacts I would suggest using cards like Manalith or Cultivator's Caravan to function as ramp and mana reduction for Metalwork Colossus. To further help this idea you can run Cogworker's Puzzleknot and Servo Schematic to make some cheap fodder and good sacrifice targets if you need to return Colossus back to hand.

You may also want to include Pia Nalaar as an early body that gives you the ability to make it hard for your opponent to block properly.

There are some other changes I would suggest like adding some burn removal and different counter magics, but that is all about preference. Best of luck with the deck.

Hey DanowarElf, thanks for the comment! I'm glad you like my deck idea. You make a good point about the difficulty to find New Perspectives. I may add something like Ethereal Usher for an extra search to go alongside Long-Term Plans. Although, New Perspectives isn't necessary to win; I recently won a multiplayer with Alhammarret's Archive and The Locust God out, then Brainstorm, Gush, and some cycling to suddenly get 15 insects, finally attacking with Pursue Glory to win. Admittedly it helped that the other players mostly left me alone for the whole game, I think I may get a lot more aggro next time!

Cool, I'll check out your Locust God deck and comment!

Changing Inspired Charge to the much better (for this deck) Pursue Glory. The latter has cycling, and a much easier-to-cover casting cost.

sebtuch, I see what you mean.

Cartouche of Ambition is gone again - to expensive for an unnecessary effect

Trial of Zeal is gone and I got one more Incendiary Flow for that

Trial of Ambition got one more copy as it is a potentially removal even for an God

Pursue Glory is gone for an additional Magma Spray and Neheb, the Worthy

Dual Lands are now down to 3 of each for more Basic Mountains again

I am glad I could help :) Take care of your mana base, I don't think you need that many dual lands with just a splash of black, and they are entering the battlefield tapped which could really slow you down. While Supernatural Stamina works perfect with Fling I am not so sure if you need Cartouche of Ambition at all. It costs which is quite a lot. You can keep your opponents away from you with Magma Spray, Incendiary Flow and Trial of Ambition so I don't think you need lifelink to survive. Giving haste to your creatures and not enabling your opponent's creatures to block is more crucial. Do you want to make the game lasts longer or would you rather to finish it early? Pursue Glory doesn't look very usefull here, if you play on curve you should finish your enemy with one or two creatures, or for that mana you could cast Limits of Solidarity and make one more opponent's creature unable to block. Or wouldn't be better to replace it for more removals? Like Cut / Ribbons for example, or more Magma Spray. It's just a though, good luck with testing!

I'm not sure if I have anything that would make Red/Blue particularly playable. Sure, I can draw a lot of cards and eventually work up to the X+UU unlockable creatures, but that's about all it does. Plus the curve is awful.

I also put together a G/R and splashed in some white. The idea is to try to bomb Onward / Victory around T6. The rest is just combat tricks, trample, and using Pathmaker Initiate to make creatures unblockable before pumping them. Crash Through for trample and card draw, plus a few of the creatures already have Trample, and Mighty Leap and a Dauntless Aven to get a bit of flying. The whole deck falls around the 3 CMC range, with only Pursue Glory and Bitterbow Sharpshooters hitting above 4CMC. The plan is to just stay on curve, get out fast and start pumping out damage.

Hey guys - just entered a draft league. They let us pick up 4 packs to start (2 ANK, 2 HOU) and build 30 card decks from there. I think I got the short end of the pulls. Especially when I look at the awesome (frustratingly so) pulls that my GF got, who is even more of a newbie to the game. Anyway, this is what I put together:

Creatures Frilled Sandwalla , Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Naga Vitalist, Dune Beetle , Wretched Camel, Ruin Rat, Bitterblade Warrior , Sidewinder Naga , Ornery Kudu , Giant Spider , Bitterbow Sharpshooters

Spells Compelling Argument, Gift of Strength , Synchronized Strike , Splendid Agony, Cartouche of Ambition, Torment of Venom

Artifacts Traveler's Amulet, Bontu's Monument, Oketra's Monument

Land Ipnu Rivulet, Desert of the Glorified, Desert of the Indomitable, Grasping Dunes,1Island, 4Forest, 2Swamp

The idea that I had was to go BG for tossing -1/-1 with Vizier, and having some creatures and pumps. Splashed U for milling.

What else did I pull? Garbage, I think. White was especially thin, which is sad because it's one of my favorite colors.

White Mighty Leap , Oketra's Avenger , Forsake the Worldly , Dauntless Aven , Sandblast

Blue Strategic Planning, Spellweaver Eternal, Labyrinth Guardian , Ancient Crab , Eternal of Harsh Truths, Tragic Lesson, Illusory Wrappings , Shimmerscale Drake , Striped Riverwinder, Open Into Wonder

Black Liliana's Defeat, Shadow of the Grave, Doomfall, Razaketh, the Foulblooded

Red Crash Through, Pathmaker Initiate, Nef-Crop Entangler , Blur of Blades, Open Fire, Pursue Glory , Manticore Eternal , Hazoret's Undying Fury, Desert Cerodon

Aftermath Onward / Victory

Land Sunscorched Desert, Shefet Dunes

Now, my list of cards is recorded at the store, so I can change the deck but obviously cannot add any cards from elsewhere. I'm wondering if I shouldn't have featured Red in the deck, maybe just cut my losses and went RG to keep it simple. Can anyone help me out? It's fairly casual, but I don't really want to get my head caved in for the next two months of MtG.Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
