Hey there! One way to strengthen and upgrade your deck is through your mana base! Maybe consider some of the following lands!
- Blooming Marsh
- Llanowar Wastes
- Nurturing Peatland
- Twilight Mire
- Verdant Catacombs
- Pine Barrens (Budget/Maybe)
- Ancient Tomb
- Prismatic Vista
- Fabled Passage
- City of Brass
- Mana Confluence
- Reflecting Pool
- Command Tower
- Exotic Orchard
- Strip Mine/Wasteland
- Forbidden Orchard
- Gemstone Mine

Some of these are a tad bit expensive, (cough Verdant Catacombs cough) but many others are rather cheap, especially cards like Command Tower, which are even some of the best. An upgraded mana base can make a deck SO SO much faster, and it helps much more than one would believe. I would recommend trying them out and playtesting them, and seeing if they help first!

Another couple cards to consider are some upgraded ramp cards! Your average CMC is pretty low so they aren't too necessary, but its good to consider a couple at least. Maybe consider some of the following
- Birds of Paradise
- Sylvan Caryatid
- Burgeoning
- Golgari Signet
- Jet Medallion/Emerald Medallion
- Exploration
- Lotus Petal

I love the flavor of this deck! Looks super fun.
Quick question - why is Pine Barrens in here? Seems like Llanowar Wastes, Temple of Malady, Hissing Quagmire, Jungle Hollow all might be better and still in your budget. or maybe another vivid land.
related question - is this really playable with 17 lands? seems very low.

It also occurs to me that you might get some value from the cheaper dual lands like Temple of Malady, Llanowar Wastes, Pine Barrens, Nurturing Peatland and Woodland Cemetery. Prices on these vary so pick whatever ones you can fit in to your budget.

This is a really cool deck and I appreciate your concept of old border cards. Because I wasn't totally familier with the old-border cards myself, i've had to look a bunch of cards. Below you'll find list of cards, you might consider. Regarding the "nightmare" level these cards will give your opponent, thats for you to decide.
Suggestions of likewise cards to your currect configuration:Skeletal Scrying -- Card draw by exiling cards in your graveyard. It can also function as mana dumb.Greed -- Serves the same function as Skeletal Scrying. Instead, you pay 2 life and to draw a card.Gangrenous Goliath -- Another way of utilizing Clerics able to tap for an effect.Headhunter -- Another Cleric with a discard trigger and morph.Restless Dreams -- Allows you to get rid of unwanted cards or cards you want in your graveyard and could return the cheaper or needed Clerics to your hand.
Other lands you might consider:Pine Barrens -- Slow pain-land.Tainted Wood -- Can make both and , as long you have a Swamp.Ebon Stronghold/Peat Bog -- Can sacrifices for . Peat Bog will do this twice, before its sacrificed.Cabal Coffers -- Will ramp your into Scion of Darkness faster.
I hope some of these cards, will make your decks more nightmare-ish for your opponents.

I'm making one of these myself, but with a focus on Darien, King of Kjeldor. Ever thought of using lands like Barbarian Ring, Brushland, Centaur Garden, Llanowar Wastes, Nomad Stadium, Pine Barrens, Salt Flats, Scabland, Sulfurous Springs, or Tomb of Urami? While for my deck, they only help a lot when I have Darien out.. They can get you consistent life loss early on in the game and stay with you throughout.. even if you don't need the mana, you can float it!

I'm a budget player so here's a budget mana base:- Golgari Rot Farm-Golgari Guildgate-Foul Orchard-Grim Backwoods-Hissing Quagmire-Jungle Hollow-Llanowar Wastes-Pine Barrens-Tainted Wood-Temple of Malady-Woodland Cemetery if you got the dough.
