(Hope I'm not bothering too much by clogging up your comment & notification space)

Cloudstone Curio could, as usual, provide pretty good value here; each Aura you cast with Siona out lets you reuse another Aura and/or ETB creature. If that appeals you then you might want more CMC 1 Auras, One with Nature & Multani's Harmony seem decent of the ones left. Maybe even Mortal Obstinacy instead of Aura Mutation ?

Similar to the other two I mentioned before, Daybreak Coronet & Beastmaster's Magemark feel pretty linear (even if they're stylish for being on-theme) so they're IMO cutable

hey i love your deck idea and the fact that its a cheap modern deck that even a broke boi like me can afford (playing only islands ofcourse >.<)a card that crossed my mind was Sleight of Hand just because it doesnt say draw a card its stil a good cantrip ;P and i recently saw people bringing 0/1 Tarmogoyf onto the board in a few modern matches (but i honestly dont know if that a thing people normaly do...) so perhaps Twisted Image might be fun but i guess its just to situational...i realy thought i once saw a modern card that did something like Multani's Harmony but i guess i was wrong, couldnt find anything at least

You're deck might be okay if you are playing casual Magic. However, if you want to compete in tournaments, I doubt that the idea will work. The cards in the combo cost far too much mana to stall the game until you can cast it all, and you would really need more ways to dig through your library for it to be successful. Even if you do control the first game, sideboard can take care of your shenanigans. It is a cool interaction, but I would recommend making an EDH deck out of the combo. There are many different cards that have strong synergy with the foundation of your deck. For example, you could use Fathom Mage + Horizon Chimera + Sunbond the same way. It also works with Cryptolith Rite + Fathom Mage + Leech Bonder . Paradise Mantle, Multani's Harmony, Karametra's Favor, and Utopia Vow can all take the place of Cryptolith Rite here. It also makes the combo more manageable because you control all of the triggers. It may seem worse that I listed combos that require 4 cards, but you really only need the three that I mentioned because they allow you to draw and cast the Laboratory Maniac instead of going off immediately. It is easy to build budget decks for the Commander format, and it is generally less cutthroat and therefore less punishing to people who do not spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on their decks. However, if you want to keep it as a 60-card Modern deck, you should remove some of the copies of pieces to your combo and use Tooth and Nail to grab the cards that you need. Something like Reckless Scholar (but not necessarily the card in particular) would help you dig for the combo and set it off on your turn at instant speed instead of needing to wait until your draw step, thus removing your opponent's window for removal. You can cut Cancel to add the lands or better counters. Spell Snare is a powerful choice because there are so many 2-drops in Modern and because you can cast it for only 1 mana, meaning that you can almost always play a spell on your turn and save for this on their turn. Sadly, it is an expensive card in terms of money and may not cooperate with your budget. Now for the compliments: 1) I love the inclusion of Coiling Oracle. It is extremely underrated, and it makes me happy to see somebody using the card. 2) Your combo is cool, and I am sure that the deck will be exciting to play. 3) You are playing Bant, which is--in my opinion--the best color combination. Furthermore, you are playing the colors correctly--stall until you can pull off a quick win or grind out your opponent. I like the deck and think that it will be fun in casual games. But it needs some serious work and a monetary commitment if you want it to perform well in competitive situations. If you can clarify your goals and let me know which of my comments helped and which ones made no sense to you (if any), I will reply with more specific advice. We might even find a way to make it work in Modern while sticking to a budget. Good luck with the building.

GobboE, Thanks again for the great advice! I own a metric crapload of the Panorama fetches ( Jund Panorama , for instance). Would you recommend those for mana-fixing in this deck? I also own a bunch of each of the Obelisks ( Obelisk of Esper , etc). I'm leery of the tri-land sac cards like Geothermal Crevice . They don't seem as optimal but I'm no expert and my M:TG instincts aren't fully developed. I could add Guildgates and the Lifelands but they're all tapped upon entry. I heard one shouldn't have a majority of one's lands be slow but I'm willing to defer to veterans' judgement on the subject. Would you recommend a set of the bounce lands (Rakdos Carnarium, etc)? Banners, cluestones, signets?

I want a Harabaz Druid , for instance, but it won't be in the 1.0 version of the deck for budget reasons but will find its way in quite early on, I'm sure. It's just too good and $6 isn't the end of the world. I mean, I'm scraping together couch change for this month's rent but by the time I build this deck that won't be a thing ;)

The Orchards are on my short-list, Lotus Vale perhaps, Ancient Ziggurat for sure, Gemstone Mine is a little pricey, City of Brass would work well I believe, Unknown Shores seems legit, Mana Confluence is pricey but a candidate, Mirrodin's Core seems okay, Springjack Pasture seems funny but isn't blowing me away, Thran Quarry would be good but it's a little up there in price for me, and likewise for Undiscovered Paradise .

Henge of Ramos seems outdated, Tendo Ice Bridge is too expensive, Reflecting Pool seems like it won't help me much and is expensive to boot, Archaeological Dig seems meh, same for Forsaken City , Rainbow Vale , School of the Unseen , and Tarnished Citadel.

Plenty of fixing rocks out there I suppose. Would you recommend those? Coalition Relic is a no-brainer but out of the initial budget, ditto for Gilded Lotus but more so, Khalni Gem maybe, $Lotus Bloom$, Lotus Blossom on the other hand seems neat, Prophetic Prism seems nice and is cheaper than Mana Prism (but doesn't give a colorless for free), Phyrexian Lens seems okay, Prismatic Lens is cheap, Spectral Searchlight seems okay too, Springleaf Drum might be all right,

Mana Cylix , Chromatic Star, Chromatic Sphere , Pentad Prism, Sphere of the Suns , Standing Stones , Terrarion all seem meh.

Paradise Mantle?

Some five-color decks I've seen utilize a lot of Green spells like Dawn's Reflection, Divergent Growth , Fertile Ground , $Food Chain$, Manamorphose, Metamorphosis , Multani's Harmony , Overlaid Terrain , $Prismatic Omen$, Trace of Abundance , Utopia Sprawl, and Utopia Vow . Might be a good idea to include a few, huh.

Such an intricate dance...

Balancing lands vs fetches vs rocks vs spells is tricky! I might have to do some guess-and-check once the deck is build in the meatspace.

The two cards you recommended are excelent for this deck and even my Goblin deck so consider them strongly considered. I was trying to keep all un-owned cards under a dollar for the 1.0 version but those are both cheap and brilliant so if they don't go into the initial build they will be in the very first wave of upgrades. I can't thank you enough for all of your assistance.

DaringApprentice, excellent suggestions. My newb-ass didn't even now about Captain's Claws . Drana's Chosen is dope too. I might leave her out for the initial build and see if I need the beef. Planar Guide is one I hadn't seen before, too. Cheaper than ghostaway , that's for true.

I initially had all the Lairs in the deck (you may notice they're all in the Maybe list) but I was worried about having too many slow lands. I'll probably buy a set anyway and experiment with them. Thanks for reminding me. Mana-fixing vs slow mana... a hard debate when working with a budget deck! Do y'all think it's worth it? Thanks for your suggestions!
