Mire's Malice

Sorcery

Target opponent discards two cards.

Awaken 3— (If you cast this spell for , also put three +1/+1 counters on target land you control and it becomes a 0/0 Elemental creature with haste. It's still a land.)

My recommendation on cards to cut would be some of the awaken cards that have minor effects on game play overall. Mire's Malice , Rising Miasma , Sheer Drop are the ones that have minor impact based on casting cost (for both initial cost and awakened cost).

Peregrination is another one that would be worth a cut, as it is Cultivate / Kodama's Reach with scry 1 for one more colorless tacked on.

One other idea to help with getting down to 100, would be to cut a few lands. The few that stand out for the cut would be Rupture Spire and Transguild Promenade . Both offer mana fixing, but at the delay of a turn. One card I usually make a slot for is Chromatic Lantern for any deck over 3 colors, this gives all your lands the color fixing that may be necessary while also ramping slightly.

catrule3564, thank you for your input mate, I had Treasure Cruise in the original list, but didn't know what to take out.-2 Mire's Malice may be an option and probably -1 Jace, Unraveler of Secrets may be the other option.I was looking at getting

Volcanic Upheaval and Vandalize would fit your theme very well.

A couple of Pyromancer's Goggles might be nice to compliment the Burn from Within. Never underestimate Twin Bolt, particularly with the goggles, because it can deal damage to creatures or players. Low cost and effective annoyance.

Hedonist's Trove may be a fun card for you as you have a lot of mana. I get it if it doesn't fit your deck, but it would be fun. Boiling Earth might also be nice as you can cause damage to creatures, but you can also use the awaken ability to generate a couple of 4/4 creatures. Mind Rot and Mire's Malice also would be nice compliments to your deck.

The idea with elves is you get wide fast enough to do damage early. And typically if you are hit with a Languish or Planar Outburst you can recover pretty fast and have a wide board again fairly quickly. One way to help with this is to keep your removal in sideboard and add either Pulse of Murasa, Dutiful Return or Macabre Waltz. Necromantic Summons and Ever After are other options but I prefer the previous 3 I mentioned. However, if you want to make your opponent discard cards like you suggested there are other cards that can do it. Tormented Thoughts, Nightsnare, Mind Rot, Mire's Malice and Pick the Brain.

Mire's Malice and Remorseless Punishment are the only discard spells I can find in standard, but with the SOI madness going around, I wouldn't suggest discard at all

Now that I think though, Black isn't terrible for lands either. You've already got Ruinous Path, but have you considered Mire's Malice, or Rising Miasma? They're not great, but if you're bent on keeping black, there's some more options for you.

Tomahawk-Bang: Because I didn't draft what I would consider a fair amount of removal for a GB shell in this draft, I wanted to have something to help give me some control over my opponent's play, so I chose the Mire's Malice over the Stoneforge Masterwork. An argument could be made for either as a mainboard slot; in the end, I think it comes down to play style preference. I tend to be a player who grinds games out, so my bias tends to draw me to cards that make me feel like I'm in control.
