All right Squee_Spirit_Guide. It's time for the build-around challenge! When I crafted the list for Balaam__ I hand selected things I believed would interest them.

And without further ado, I introduce the "Martyr or Magus" challenge? Will you pick...

Martyr?

Magus?

So do these creatures intrigue you? We have plenty of options for building possibilities, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on other ideas if this falls short.

The synergy with Martyr of Ashes is something I'd never thought of for Dash -- Great work!

I love this deck! That lion is such a great build-around and it's nice to see a decent boros list for once.

In the early and mid-game, you will be doing a lot of cycling and will likely end up with a lot of excess lands that you won't know what to do with. I would recommend playing more red card draw spells that allow you to filter through them to find more cyclers. Cathartic Reunion and Tormenting Voice would fill in nicely.

In terms of protection, I would really recommend both Angelic Renewal and Benevolent Bodyguard. You can put both of these down before your Commander, which gives you layers of protection that you don't need to invest in reactively. Considering how important your Commander is to your strategy, this is definitely worth thinking about. Something like a well-timed Eland Umbra puts your Commander out of most burn range and is also a layer of protection against destroy effects. You might also consider Cho-Manno's Blessing, even if it's WW, the permanent protection at instant speed is as good as it gets.

One really good piece of tech you are missing is Library of Leng. No max hand size is nice, but being able to cycle a card and put on top of your library to draw it again is completely busted. This means that you can re-use the same card over and over again to trigger your Commander's ability for no extra cost. You could be dealing 2 and gaining 2 for as low as 3 mana whever you want.

In terms of removal, I would really rather see a Journey to Nowhere instead of Lightning Bolt. Oblivion Ring also deals with a lot more than Disenchant.Faith's Fetters is pretty much a staple of White Removal in PDH. They are great ways to remove commanders, since you can then pick them up with something like Kor Skyfisher.

Kor Cartographer is another staple ramp spell for White decks. You're scraping the bottom of the barrel with some of your ramp, so this could be an easy swap.

Your hand should stay be pretty full, so Martyr of Ashes could do a lot of work for you.

I don't really like the Pinger sub-theme. Your Commander already represents tons of removal and damage that you have access to at any time. I think those slots would be better served as protection, board wipes and card draw.

I've never played Bonder's Ornament, but it looks... kinda bad. How has it played out in your experience?

Great deck overall!

Bloodfire Infusion , Flame Slash , possibly Lava Storm , Martyr of Ashes , Sandstorm , Hush , Multani's Decree and possibly Swirling Sandstorm could act as hate against your mainly voltron opponents. Don't overload your deck with these though.

Unfortunatly, most of this also hurts you.

I would cut two lands for Kodama's Reach and Cultivate .

Darksteel Pendant can help you find what your looking for.

Does the soulblade player use Viridian Longbow ?

How fast is Vizkopa Guildmage ?

If Longbow becomes a problem, I would recomend somthing versatile like Crushing Canopy .

Monarch cards could be good, but Valduk is pretty punishing on monarch cards.

Ulamog's Crusher is the biggest beater in PDH, so he could find his way in here if you wanted.

How fast is Valduk?

Would some more combat tricks (First strike) get a Vine Mare mid combat?

What flying creature is the Stinging Shot mainly in there for?

Sorry for the unorganized thoughts, hope this helps! :)

Hey I really like your deck, esp the combos like ashling and stuffy doll/mogg maniac etc. Spitemare is another card like mogg maniac and coalhauler you should def add. Blasphemous Act is almost free in a commander game and it can deal a ton of dmg in your build. Shield of Kaldra is a worse darksteel plate but I figure darksteel plate is probably an all star in your deck and you might want another. Mob Rule is like another insurrection. Martyr of Ashes is an incredibly cheap psydo board wipe for mono red. Cards that double all dmg might be alot of fun here like Furnace of Rath and Dictate of the Twin Gods. As far as cuts which can be hard when a deck is your baby like my mono red zada, with fresh eyes id say that I don't like all is dust here, some cards like grab the reigns or kari zev seem a bit random and the elemental toolbox seems weak. Best of luck

Lash Out is probably my favourite budget burn spell for lists like this, but I've found Flame Jab/Geistflame/Burning Vengeance to be a fun package for ultra-budget burn making use of the discards and filtering lands. I'm a fan of Electrickery/Inflame, Earthquake, Firespout, Slagstorm, Street Spasm, Pyroclasm, Kindle the Carnage, Volcanic Fallout, Martyr of Ashes for crowd control. Fiery Gambit, Incendiary CommandThe big thing with budget lists is always sideboard- Aura Barbs, Boil, Empty the Warrens, Ingot Chewer, Molten Rain, Rending Volley, Roast, Shattering Spree, Weight of Spires, Sudden Shock, Smash to Smithereens Tormod's Crypt, Dragon's Claw, Bottle Gnomes and Shattering Blow can all find their place. Burst Lightning is a cheap shock upgrade and Furnace Scamp can be more efficient than a bolt if you are removing blockers. Unstable Footing/Wild Slash is pretty useful for that final push.
