Loxodon Partisan Discussion

Decree of Justice and Gustcloak Harrier aren't legal, mate.

Wake the Reflections is bad, given that your only tokens are 1/1s and it's not repeatable. Drop all three of your Sorceries for 3x Disenchant, which is so much better (instant speed). Artifact and Enchantment recurring are never seen, so the instant speed is almost strictly better.

Put in 4x Honor of the Pure

Drop Ajani's Presence for another Reciprocate.

Drop Anointer Priest for 2x Soul Warden OR Soul's Attendant.

Go down the Loxodon Partisans for another 2 Preeminent Captain.

Go down Seraph of the Masses for another Precinct Captain.

Go down the Veteran Armorsmith and the Victory's Herald for 2x Field Marshal and another Captain of the Watch.

Let's try it like that for now.

Greenbelt Rampager might be good to trigger Lifecrafter's Bestiary cheaply.

If you're acting more control-y I'd run Loxodon Mystic, Prized Elephant, or Mosstodon(would get you a real easy way to nab trample) instead of Loxodon Partisan.

Also no Loxodon Warhammer for flavor?

Very fun deck!

Crayfish on Opinions of my personal starter ...

I've always wanted to make some simple 40-card beginner decks to teach people how to play, and with the combination of me moving to a new school district and my girlfriend saying she is willing to learn, I have finally built them. I would like your opinions on them, and if they seem easy enough for a newer player to understand. (As a note, I tried to include a wide cast of keywords to emphasize the diversity of the game.)

Each deck has 17 lands and one rare, which the deck is themed around

There are a few cards I would suggest putting in. 1. Kuldotha Ringleader: These suddenly make all of your spawns pack a much scarier punch. When you use Swarm Surge, they aren't 3/1s with first strike, they're 4/1s with first strike, and that can be the difference to the game. The main downside is trying to pronounce the first word in his name. 2. Loxodon Partisan: While this only works if you splash white, this guy can still be pretty powerful. Again with the battle cry, but he doesn't attack each turn if able. 3. Hissing Iguanar: This guy will make it so if your opponent just has a wall of blockers, you can just sacrifice yours to kill the opponent. Or maybe at end of combat, if they're at 7, you can just sac your field to kill them.
