Lol yeah, no. Mono-red Goma Fada Vanguard and Kargan Intimidator will not survive that. Having said that I would propose the notion, similar to that of poker, “make them do it.” One thing that I’ve heard for years, as we all have, is the eternal discussion of “this beats that” and “the answer would be X” or whatever. There will (hopefully) always be answers in magic to everything in magic; that’s how the game works. Whether your opponent (a) has it in the deck, and (b) gets their hands on it, is what really matters. That fury card is a good example for the warrior deck I’ve been tinkering with because it’s unlikely that the opponent will have an answer to the Roiling Vortex I try to get out turn two or three (my initial brief at-work read on that card is that it’s cast without paying mana). Maybe they do, I don’t know, but the opponent needs to make it happen. Rolling the dice on that for me is the juice. That’s the action I would be seeking if/when I get out to a modern event. All of those decks that I might be competing against are stellar examples of “how to make a good deck” but they still have to pull the cards, hence my focus on a fast deck. Built a cool race car? Great. I hope you can get it running and in gear before I sprint the full 20 feet of the race ;p

Nature's Lore, Three Visits, Masked Vandal, Heroic Intervention, Boros Charm, Species Specialist, Kargan Intimidator, Dusk / Dawn, Dowsing Dagger  Flip, Kindred Discovery, Kindred Dominance, Kindred Summons, Bojuka Bog, Scavenger Grounds are all worth consideration

I'd take out: Sol Ring Most of your mana costs are colored. Explore replace with better ramp as suggested above. Derevi, Empyrial Tactician not sure what this does here. Thassa's Oracle you're not looking to mill yourself out. Brainstorm only good if you can shuffle your library regularly such as with fetch lands. Demonic Consultation you're not looking for specific combo pieces Spell Pierce. You want to be spending your mana early, not keeping this up. Same with Mana Drain. Rally the Ranks. If you're gonna do this kind of effect, use something nicer like Realmwalker Coastal Piracy. Doesn't seem as good here as Kindred Discovery

Also think you can cut a couple lands given that your mana curve stops at 6. Or replace them with lands like Glasspool Mimic  Flip and Bala Ged Recovery  Flip

Could I offer an additional requirement? In addition to the random commander, add two random cards that work in that color identity and use them in a subtheme. This way, if someone hits Atraxa, Praetors' Voice or Kenrith, the Returned King or another popular commander, it's not quite so easy to just copy a deck.

I got Lovisa Coldeyes. The easy way to go here is Warrior tribal, with some interesting Barbarians and Berserkers to fill it out. Brighthearth Banneret, Kargan Intimidator, and Arni Brokenbrow will probably all find a home here. Give it some Viking thematic love and lean in hard to Ice Age, Coldsnap, and Kaldheim.

If I add two random cards, I got Extraplanar Lens and Trumpet Blast. Trumpet blast goes for go-wide aggro, so that's kind of where this deck wants to be. Lens could add a subtheme around ramp, but I'm going to go with Mountains matter and add Koth of the Hammer, Siege of Towers, and Earth Servant.

Omniscience_is_life - As much as I adore Kargan Intimidator, and have been interested in building a pseudo-warriors tribal deck including him, I’m not sure this is the place for him, because my other warriors: Pelt Collector & Gruul Spellbreaker already have trample. I do wonder if maybe he has a place in modern with Wild Nacatl? I’m also hesitant of Adorned Pouncer, only because it doesn’t grow my 1-drops on curve. Maybe an Embercleave deserves a slot though?

I really appreciate your attention brought to Ghor-Clan Rampager and your suggestion of replacing it with CoCo. I’m surprised I didn’t think of it myself, lol. Thank you so much for your feedback!

I have exactly zero experience with Pioneer, but I like what you're doing here from a commander perspective!

Since I have such little knowledge of the format, you ought to take all my suggestions with several grains of salt; but here's what I've got:

I wonder if Fleecemane Lion is worthy of a playset--would a Kargan Intimidator (can give Pelt Collector trample!), or Adorned Pouncer (also a cat lol, and works well w/Ghor-Clan Rampager) be a worthy replacement?

Speaking of Ghor-Clan Rampager (albeit the first mention was parenthetical, but surely it counts!), I don't love it as a 4-of--so much mana, even if it can be activated for cheaper. A few Collected Company could reeeaally help give this deck some gas, and that seems like it would take the same slot given mana cost.

Glad to see people playing non-commander formats, it can get a little stale with just that sometimes ;3

Golgari Processing Plant

Land (Mythic Rare)

Golgari Processing Plant enters the battlefield tapped.

, Sacrifice another permanent: Add , , or .

, , Sacrifice Golgari Processing Plant, exile your graveyard: Create a 1/1 black and green Worm creature token for each creature card exiled this way, create a 0/1 green Plant creature token for each land card exiled this way, and create a 1/1 black Rat creature token for each noncreature, nonland card exiled this way.

I'd like to see a card which cares about those three creature types. In any way. Elite Inquisitor , Kaalia of the Vast , Power Word Kill , Animal Sanctuary , Swarmyard , and Boldwyr Intimidator / Kargan Intimidator all show permutations of different multi-tribes, for reference.

Hello, Sorin_Markov_1947,

Sorry for the late reply, but Kargan Intimidator most definitively remove all creature type while turning the creature into a coward, otherwise it would say "...coward in addition to its other types" like for Demonic Embrace . Please do some research or testing on MTGA before correcting others.

DanMcSharp Kargan Intimidator 's coward ability does not remove creature types, so any creature he targets will still be a human, it will just also be a coward.

I'm not the best with Winota decks, I couldn't tell you what ratio is best, but it seems like there are too many humans (payoffs) and not enough non-humans (enablers). Goldspan Dragon is a very good card to include, Selfless Savior protects Winota and counts as a non-human, Basri's Lieutenant is a human but a good one to hit, and Alseid is an alternative to Selfless Savior if you'd prefer.

There are plenty of low-power hits in here, but I totally understand just wanting to play cards that look cool!
