Jace, the Living Guildpact

Planeswalker — Jace

+1: Look at the top two cards of your library. Put one of them into your graveyard.

-3: Return another target nonland permanent to its owner's hand.

-8: Each player shuffles their hand and graveyard into their library. You draw seven cards.

Nah, I honestly suspect we will see some more one-shot stories to help simmer things down.

Probably go to Kaya's world where the "sky is breaking". Probably wrap up Liliana's arc. See how Ajani is doing after he got cured.

I have a feeling in about a year or two we will return yet again to Ravnica / Innistrad / Zendikar in order to see the aftermath of what happened.

If I had to bet money on the next BBEG, it would honestly be Niv-Mizzet. I mean consider the following:

  • He witnessed the guilds wage war across the whole of Ravnica after Experiment Kraj or whatever it was called was released
  • Along with the release of the Nephilim
  • He watched the world crack when Jace, the Living Guildpact said nah f this and yeeted
  • He watched the Eldrazi invade during Gatecrash (I think?)
  • He watched Bolas invade with the Dreadhorde
  • Then he learned that all of this was to blame because of Planeswalkers

Now, his world is being destroyed yet again, because of those who exist outside of it - once again

If anyone deserves the title of the next multiversal threat, it's Niv-mf'ing-Mizzet.

And the best part? You could legitimately sympathize and emphasize with him. You can only watch your home be destroyed so many times before you rise up to protect it.

So while the rest of the multiverse sees a wrathful Dragon raging across their worlds, hunting down Planeswalkers and technology to destroy it all... We see a broken man, trying to protect those he loves.

Look me in the eyes and tell me that isn't a brilliant multiversal threat.

Nadeem, Heir of the Gruul

Legendary Planeswalker - Nadeem

+1: Create a 3/2 Red and Green Cat Creature token with Frenzy 1. If you attacked with a Cat this turn, create 2 of those tokens instead.

0: Destroy target permanent with a Mana Value equal to the number of Cat Creatures you control.

-8: You get an emblem with: "At the beginning of combat on your turn, Cat Creatures you control get +X/+X, where X is the number of Cat Creatures you control."

4

Hopefully that coincides with TypicalTimmy's idea. Next Challenge is for a reimagined Jace, the Living Guildpact!

Small correction: you seem to have not read Jace, the Living Guildpact exactly right. The +1 doesn't do the same thing as Teferi, Temporal Archmage at all. Teferi looks at the top 2, puts 1 in your hand and one on the bottom of the library. Jace, however, looks at the top 2, and puts one in the graveyard. Nothing to hand, just self mill. Which seems way worse to me.

A few I haven't seen yet:

Couple tips when looking for moons: Both actual moons and moon symbols count, so keep an eye out for moons on things like books, texts, and manufactured things in the art. There is no limit on how small they can be, though it's obvious it has to be large enough to make out. Some cards have very small, very sneaky moons hidden in them this way.

Love the Deck, here are some fun and cheap suggestions that may help you out!

Wall of Denial / Vapor Snag / Celestial Flare / Elite Arcanist / Righteousness / Spell Snare / Godhead of Awe / Silence / Detention Sphere / Journey to Nowhere / Preordain / Jace, the Living Guildpact / Deputy of Detention / Invocation of Saint Traft / Unsettled Mariner / Oblivion Ring /

These are all great budget options that can replace a lot of your cards that already do the same, but for a higher cost. these kind of decks its vital to stall till you can drop bombs for a win. Good looking deck, hope it helps!

I thought about Leveler and Laboratory Maniac but with Jace, the Living Guildpact for a deck reset as well as Revive I was hoping there would be enough control to not worry about completely milling myself. But Laboratory Maniac is still in the picture; worry not :)

Yesterday, I got Tamiyo, the Moon Sage to ultimate with Deepglow Skate . By the end of the game, Tamiyo, the Moon Sage had 2054 loyalty and Aminatou had over 500. I was able to abuse that Bubbling Season combo, flickering Deepglow Skate with Aminatou, the Fateshifter and ultimating planeswalkers Ob Nixilis Reignited twice and Ajani Steadfast once as well. Deepglow Skate also proved to be insane with Parallax Wave . Last week, I used Deepglow Skate to ultimate the often otherwise underwhelming Jace, the Living Guildpact . This deck has loads of win conditions and is fast and powerful while also able to control the board. I lost 1 vs. 1 against Najeela but probably could've won if I would've made a better decision on a Liliana Vess search... should've gotten Parallax Wave or Terminus .
