Hazoret's Undying Fury Discussion

hiboiiiiiiii

Zurgo is definitely a fun commander to play, I would recommend going for the aggro/voltron route. Cards that give Zurgo himself double strike or extra combats for set up. Here might be some cards that can be considered: Seize the Day, Sigarda's Aid, Combat Celebrant, Silverblade Paladin, Arashin Foremost, Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder, Temur Battle Rage, World at War, Duelist's Heritage, Dictate of the Twin Gods, Ajani, Caller of the Pride

Cards I would recommend cutting would be: Resolute Archangel, Plaguecrafter, Opaline Unicorn, Howling Golem, Fleshbag Marauder, Miraculous Recovery, Risk Factor, Smelt, Hazoret's Undying Fury, Impale, Mind Rot, Repeating Barrage, Rise from the Grave, Shadow Slice, Walk the Plank, Arcane Encyclopedia...oh man there is actually quite a bit...

The most important thing to see when deck building is what is your main goal of your deck? After that it's how to achieve you goal or gameplan. Than add cards to support your game plan. For your Zurgo deck, I would recommend adding in more cheap ramp, removal spells, card draw, than protection. The cards I suggested earlier should be under $5 at most and should be affordable to get.

Hope that helps and feel free to ask for any advice!

Hi all,

I read the rulings for the Hazoret's Undying Fury Unfortunately you can not copy it with the spells you cast from it (rule no 7), that's shame :< But yeah the ascension and something like bonus round will work if cast before

Hey man, here to give a couple directions you could take with this baby. I've highly anticipated the release of the new jhoira, and here are some of the cards I would add in as some great all around includes.

Some cards here will be explanatory, but others I will defend here.

Icy Manipulator is a great way to tap down tricky flip lands, and other hard to deal with threats. If your aim is multiplayer control, I would add this in.

Renegade Map and other similar one drops act as a great way to cycle our library as well as build towards ascend if we go that route. 1 mana draw is powerful.

Squee, the Immortal 3 mana draw! Essentially an extra card in our hand.

Wildfire Eternal multiplayer brawl version of the dwayne the rock johnson. Get in there kid.

As Foretold Lets make our draws free? As close as we are going to get to consecrated sphinx in brawl.

Whir of Invention fabricate.

Jaya Ballard get those lands out of here. Probably just going to +0 her, but hey, it gets there.

Hazoret's Undying Fury Now this is a hot piece of tail. Resolve this, drop your hand, draw 4? It's the tabasco our "mid-range good stuff- not trying to combo kill you" deck needs.

Thank you for tips. I will remove Hazoret's Undying Fury as well as the Torment of Venom and most likely replace with Magma Spray and/or Lightning Strike.

I will be looking to acquire some Fatal Push soon to pack some punch into the deck.Repeating Barrage will definetly get replaced by something quicker. Also was thinking of putting Razaketh's Rite in the mainboard or the sideboard to be able to Pull out Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh when I have the chance.

Defintely gonna work on that soon. Thanks man

This is an interesting deck you have here. I think you may want to cut Repeating Barrage and Torment of Venom in favor of Lightning Strike or Abrade. You may even want to use Shock, Magma Spray, or Fatal Push so you have some 1 mana option to play.

The reasoning for Repeating Barrage is that you are heavy on sorcery spells, your mana curve is a bit high, and I think the instant speed removal will help out more for combat tricks (especially with Spellweaver Eternal).

Why I suggest removing Torment of Venom is purely because its mana cost to function. While I like the torment style cards flavor, the card is unfortunately cumbersome to play most of the time as it is a 4 mana removal spell that doesn't always kill its target. Cutting this for some earlier removal should help with how fast a lot of decks are running or allow you to disrupt your opponent easier on their turn.

I would also Suggest removing Hazoret's Undying Fury in general as it is a very expensive gamble card. Any lands exiled with it are just wasted cards and you could accidentally hit Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh or Never (mana cost seen as both halves) and not be able to cast either. This is a steep price to pay for not being able to untap next turn also. I know you have tricks to play the card for free through Wildfire Eternal or get extra mana from Neheb, the Eternal, but this is still a gamble card that can bite you hard if not careful.

I really like the zombie theme you went with this and how well that should support The Scarab God . Best of luck with the deck.

-Arcanity- and milse my best solution for Wildfire Eternal is couple of Hazoret's Undying Fury is one best use is to call most of your creature to battle field with hazoret that include Nehab the eternal

this deck could use some Supreme Will , Doomfall, Disallow, Glimmer of Genius for both hazoret / wildfire target..

I like the afflict strategy, i tried to build one at some point and i ended up with naya glorious end. Check my masterpiece in my profile.

Anyway, i like wildfire eternal. You can surprise your opponents by casting a big spells like Boneyard Parley, Hazoret's Undying Fury, etc. have you ever thought about Invigorated Rampage? You can use it either as a finisher or a trap card to force your opponents to block afflicted creatures and sudden pump them.

Other than that good job. You got me on Lord of the Accursed pumping your afflict creatures.

Cm3 originally I was reluctant to add in many spells over 3 cmc, but now, thinking on the current meta I do agree that I might need some higher cmc spells for when the game runs late- yeah I'm adding in another Hazoret's Undying Fury.

Also, Cm3, I actually had not thought about Rekindling Phoenix, and I might add a few copies if it turns out I need bigger spells.
