Hamza, Guardian of Arashin Discussion

Thank you very much community. I think that at one point the save process failed during the Kaldheim Update and therefore some commanders are still missing.

@Commander_JAR: Yes, your assessment is correct. We came to the same conclusion, besides it costs 6 mana and there are cheaper strong green +1/+1 counter matter commanders. It's an excellent choice for the 99, in decks like Fynn, the Fangbearer , Hamza, Guardian of Arashin , Atraxa, Praetors' Voice or Roalesk, Apex Hybrid etc.

I'm not a Blood/Meta Pod specialist but Tymna is much stronger than Ravos, because she's cheaper and can draw 3 cards per turn, where Ravos isn't bad at all, but he needs to stick atleast one turn on the board, to have an effect, where Tymna can draw you cards immediately when you already have creatures on the board. But visit the Blood Pod Discord or the primers on the cEDH database for more infos.

king-saproling Thank you very much! For now I put in Good-Fortune Unicorn , Conclave Mentor , Sadistic Glee and Hamza, Guardian of Arashin . And I put Cathars' Crusade on my maybe board, because I think it is really cool, but maybe a little bit too much mana for this deck. Also, Bloodspore Thrinax and Spike Feeder looked really cool, but I'm not sure if I can really use it, so therefore its on my maybe board too.

The following deck is my pet deck at the current moment. I was super excited seeing Hamza, Guardian of Arashin. I was getting bored of Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle. It couldn't win without comboing which

A) Left a bad taste in my mouth for our 75% meta with a few aggro decks and more battlecruiser stompy decks

B) Left me to screwed once they saw I played it. It made me archenemy real quick. They disrupt my combos and then it's mostly draw, land, pass until I can find anything.

Something else about this is that I can run similar Krark-Clan Ironworks combos and the like but at the same time have backup beatdown win cons. It's also so refreshing brewing a new commander that can bring fresh strategies for color combinations! I currently have a prototype list I've been working with here:

Elephants Are Better Than Birds V1.0

As well as a list of theory crafting I did the day of/day after Hamza got spoiled.

hamza guardian of arashin pieces (theorycrafting)

Mainly my problem is that I need help with cuts and where to go next in terms of buying cards. Personally from playtesting so far I'm very light on Card Draw/CA overall, so maybe some good suggestions for that?

P.S I know Primordial Sage should be cut for Beast Whisperer and it is on the way. Until I get it in paper the Sage stays as that is how the deck is currently.

Thanks for any help!

I love decks like these! Seeing them in their early builds and watching them grow is so fun and interesting! Also, commander legends has introduced this guy, Hamza, Guardian of Arashin. Might pique your interest! :D

Hey Abzkaban, mad respect for this deck. I return often to look for inspiring updates to my own Ghave build.

I'm curious for your thoughts on a couple of the new creatures from Commander Legends, Thalisse, Reverent Medium and Hamza, Guardian of Arashin that caught my eye as potential Ghave additions.

Thalisse seems like she'd be good in Ghave but thinking about how this deck wants to really combo off, I suspect her trigger on the end step probably doesn't help any of the combos. All the big game-winning combos happen on the spot so you've won before the end step even hits.

I'm already thinking Hamza isn't needed in a combo Ghave build. Sure, he synergizes with the theme but doesn't really push the combo agenda forward. He would just be a discount on casting costs for the higher CMC creatures but not worth taking out something better to make room for this.

Perhaps these are "good stuff" creatures if you're building a Ghave deck that just does things with tokens and +1/+1 counters - but not really needed in an infinite combo build like this. Curious for your opinion of them.
