Feral Throwback
Creature — Beast
Amplify 2 (As this creature enters the battlefield, put two +1/+1 counters on it for each Beast card you reveal in your hand.)
Provoke (When this attacks, you may have target creature defending player controls untap and block it if able.)
Yesterday on How exactly does Provoke work?

Also, the reason you might want to have an opponent's creature (untap and) block your creature it to remove that opponent's creature either from the battlefield, or just from blocking your main sources of damage.
Deftblade Elite is designed just to busy an opponent's large creature so that it can't block your other sources of damage that might die if blocked by a large creature your opponent controls. It doesn't especially benefit from being able to untap an opponent's creature, unless they control something with 1 toughness like a Birds of Paradise. Feral Throwback is more often large and can provoke creatures specifically to destroy them in combat, even if they were tapped moving into combat.
It's kind of like old, weird fighting (Blood Feud).

So, story time for amplify; Legions had just come out, and with it, slivers were reborn. There were also, as it turns out, some beastly monstrocities for removal, like the aforementioned Feral Throwback's provoke.
"But wait," I hear you cry, "what do these two completely different tribes have to do with each other?" Well, first I need to provide a bit of context; you see, while the card itself might reference a specific creature type, the mechanic doesn't. It checks creatures that share a type as the creature enters play. It's a small distinction, but it allowed a weird interaction:
Conspiracy + Slivers + Amplify = win?
Mind you, nowadays we have Hivestone, Arcane Adaptation, and Xenograft, but this was old school. Heck, magic was just celebrating its 10th anniversary. And there's nothing I like more that taking old cards that were basically useless, cheap gimmicks, and turning them into disgusting beasts. besides which, with the new slivers, it was possible to cover most bases with a mere two colors in slivers. This was basically unheard of a the time.

banding and phasing?!? holy Throwbacks batman! weird thought. Feral Throwback has amplify. amplify is modified by the card's creature type, bear with me, while the card is on the stack (as the result is "comes into play with"). now think about that with Conspiracy and, lets say, another tribal thing, like, elves or zombies. and suddenly you have a combo-rific tribal accelerant...without being tribal. food for thought. and yes, I'm kind of bitter about phasing being gone. I miss it =(
