This looks great! I might be missing something, but it looks like the only way to use Archfiend's Vessel is with Call of the Death-Dweller , so it maybe doesn't vibe as well? Maybe sub for Dreadmalkin or something situational like Lightning Bolt . Good luck!

I think you should consider using more useful enabler like Cauldron Familiar which can drain opponents after repeated etbs, Entrails Feaster which can grow bigger each turn with no investment, or Watchers of the Dead that can act as graveyard hate

You could also add more email blurs with pseudo evasion like Black Cat which will force a player to discard if blocked, Dreadmalkin that has menace, Frost Lynx which will stop a blocker, and Illusory Ambusher which will draw cards if blocked

Absolutely brilliant name, I just can’t help thinking that this deck might work better if it was just rakdos. Atris, Oracle of Half-Truths’s effect is nice but not the greatest and Reconnaissance Mission seems awkward to cast on curve with the double blue. Cards like Dreadmalkin, Grimdancer, Frillscare Mentor and Hunted Nightmare seem like stronger includes, and by removing the blue your mana might be more consistent? This will make the deck much more aggressive, and I don’t know if that is where you want to take the deck, but it might be something to consider. Castle Locthwain might be a nice addition too, even if you decide to stick with grixis. Hopefully this is helpful, and good luck with the deck.

Vito1014 Have you considered Tentative Connection instead of Claim the Firstborn ? May be worth a maindeck IMO. We usually always have a creature with menace, making it the same cost as Firstborn but with far greater effect. Favorite steals so far include big 4,5,6-drop monsters, whack them with it, and then sac to Dreadmalkin What's your favorite usage?

Xenkay I really like those ideas. However I'm thinking maybe Blazing Volley to the sideboard for now and Hunted Nightmare to the maybeboard. This deck is next in line for me to build. So I'll do some actual plastering irl to get a bettergauge. For now I replaced Dreadmalkin in for Elite Headhunter. I think that's a great call. Cheers

I am running a similar deck and found myself beeing successful with Dreadmalkin. It's a cheap 1 drop with menace, which can serve as an emergency sacrifice outlet in combination with Tentative Connection (which also gets cheaper with you having menace creatures PLUS your enemy has one creature less to block with). Pestilent Spirit works really well with Blazing Volley since it is killing everything your enemy has for very low manacost. I don't really like Elite Headhunter because it is very expensive to make it worth and slows you down hard. Instead I would throw in some Hunted Nightmare. Very good stats for 1BB and your opponent has to think hard if he either removes it or keep it and the Deathtouch-Counter (which is irrelevant anyway in a menace-focused deck).

Dropped 3x Call of the Death-Dweller ( Without Dreadmalkin it's just a revive 3 cost ), 3x Heartfire ( Heartless Act almost always better ), 3x Unexpected Fangs ( Each time I use this the creature gets a control spell to the face ) and 4x Dreadmalkin ( Just can't get value out of this guy )

Added 4x Heartless Act ( Staple in any black IMO ), 3x Judith, the Scourge Diva ( Mirror matches I kept losing to this card ), 3x Nightmare Shepherd ( 4/4 flying base is nice and all these creatures are also nice as 1/1 because of the bonuses they give )

Might also drop 1x Sonorous Howlbonder because he doesn't stack with himself.

I also always end up sideboarding Tentative Connection for Duress lol

Uh... Im not sure you know what your commander does based on your creature pool. On a scale of 1-10, i would rate this a 1.5, but i'll help you with that. You might as well be running Golos, Tireless Pilgrim. You have a small number of Dragons in the deck, and I noticed a bunch of useless non-dragon creatures in the deck.

32 lands is wayyyy to few, and you have an awful mana base, even on a budget, having only 1 tri-land and a random af arrangement of shock and gain lands.

You have little ramp, if any, which will slow you down greatly in a format such as commander Another concern is your lack of mana rocks. Why only one signet?

Your removal is pathetic, to be honest, with only one murder. Removal is IMPORTANT in commander, being used at both utility and a rich bargaining tool in the political side of the format.

But enough with flaming the deck, here is what I would put it.

First off, let's talk about your commander. It supports a heavy dragon tribal theme, and you want nearly all of your creatures creatures that either add to this theme or ramp you to get him out earlier. If you are to be running a non dragon creature, make sure it is a utility creature such as Reclamation Sage that can either ramp you or get rid of problems on the board.
