Cyclopean Giant

Creature — Zombie Giant

When Cyclopean Giant is put into a graveyard from play, target land becomes a Swamp. Remove Cyclopean Giant from the game.

I was actually thinking of using one of those. One of the problems I realized with this deck is that, once you enchant a land to become a swamp, every subsequent swamp maker becomes kind of a dead draw. At least with Contaminated Ground, you can sorta stack the burn effect if you apply it multiple times, but Tainted Well is kind of an expensive can trip while Evil Presence doesn't replace itself. At least Cyclopean Giant is a body, I'll give him that.

Tainted Well or Evil Presence if you need more swamp-makers. There's also Cyclopean Giant

Shadow_Tack, I used to use Dirtwater Wraith instead of, but Cyclopean Giant worked better. It could appear, at first sight, a bad choice. But, besides of being a 4-4 (not so bad in pauper), many times the opponent don't want to block/remove it because of the side effect (transform a land into swamp permanently). Usually the lands are already affected by Evil Presence or Contaminated Ground and there are one or two usable lands - or worst when it's dual or more colored deck. But i can consider options, of course! What would you suggest?

Looking at your build, I don't think there is any room for a card like this. I just wanted to show you an interesting LTB effect.

Your build includes more more combos and good stuff than my own build. Simply put, I find your deck a more powerful build. I made my build very simplistic and focused on fundamentals revolving around Ghoulcaller Gisa ability.

So to me Cyclopean Giant reads a 4 cmc fodder for 4 zombies, with the added bonus of turning a non-basic land into a basic land upon death.

obitus in my reading of the card, as I see it, the trigger would follow Cyclopean Giant even when brought back by Gravespawn Sovereign. NecroPony, what are your thoughts?

IDontMakeSense, I beg to differ on the reusable part.

Cyclopean Giant's ability is a "when" trigger, so you may respond to it with your Gravespawn Sovereign and the four new zombies you just made.

Cyclopean Giant's ability does not rely on him being exiled or in the graveyard at the time of resolution.

At least that is my notion on the rulings of triggered abilities.

If you want a funny LTB try Cyclopean Giant, not many people use that guy. Its funny as hell when you sacrifice him.
