Claim Jumper

Creature — Rabbit Mercenary

Vigilance

When Claim Jumper enters the battlefield, if an opponent controls more lands than you, you may search your library for a Plains card and put it onto the battlefield tapped. Then if an opponent controls more lands than you, repeat this process once. If you search your library this way, shuffle your library.

Idoneity on Tossing green out of the …

For the last few years, I have dove deeply into ramping via lands in commander. I still play an Arcane Signet or two for density's sake, but I've come to appreciate the corner-case complexity of land-ramping without cards designed to do so.

Green gets off easiest, getting a Rampant Growth every once and a while.

White has clearly risen to second best in this field with their Brought Backs and Claim Jumpers, each combining fruitfully with fetchlands and Lotus Field.

However, other colours need to outsource. I've seen discussion around Blue copying fetches with Virtue of Knowledge or simply casting Mitotic Manipulation. Black just got Dai Li Indoctrination. And Red just can't do much.

There's some universal ones: Mirran Safehouse, Surveyor's Scope, Dowsing Dagger  Flip, Wayfarer's Bauble, Myriad Landscape, etc....

But what others are out there? I know MTG-Goldfish inspired a lot of these, but it also encouraged me to get creative. So I'm curious what means other people have mustered!

I would think about adding a few lands, usually Commander Decks will sit between 37-39. Your average mana cost is low, so 35 lands isn't too bad, but I think you should drop some of the lower power/lower cost cards and add a couple more synergy pieces or heavy hitters to close out the games. And try to find more useful lands with abilities, they really do some work in Commander.

Some cards you might want to think about replacing:

Paradise Mantle being an Equipment is a significant quality. Mana ramp drawn late isn't great, but a Mantle can still draw a card with Puresteel Paladin and is a cheap, inconsequential way for another creature to have double strike when Halvar  Flip is out. The drawback for this synergy is that Mantle is less consistent at mana production. I haven't decided on what Mana Crypt's replacement will be yet. There's plenty of time for discussion.

I had issues with Sigarda's Aid doing nothing for Equipment that's already in play. I could give it another try, but it's not replacing a mana source.

Land Tax isn't a ramp effect, and I don't understand the current appeal of it. Weathered Wayfarer is a much better repeatable land tutor when behind. Claim Jumper closes the gap against Green better. There's also Sword of the Animist and Sword of Hearth and Home to keep pace with the ramp player and gradually build a resource advantage. I see Land Tax as an outdated staple from the old days of the format before most of the new tools came along, and it sticks around largely out of habit and high-profile reprintings drawing fresh attention to it.

Nice! I am very satisfied with your choices. At prerelease, I pulled the Aven Interrupter, Final Showdown, and Claim Jumper and put them in right away trying to guesses what you would have taken out. I replaced the instant Board wipe with Farewell, took out Reprieve for the plot counter, and the Loyal Warhound for the white explosive vegetation. I will more than likely do the same replacements you made based off your explanations.
