Chaos Moon

Enchantment

At the beginning of each upkeep, count the number of permanents. If the number is odd, until end of turn, red creatures get +1/+1 and whenever a player taps a Mountain for mana, that player adds (Red) to his or her mana pool. If the number is even, until end of turn, red creatures get -1/-1 and if a player taps a Mountain for mana, that Mountain produces colorless mana instead of any other type.

Balaam__ after much deliberation, I think I've found some cards I would want to "collaborate" in the way you described:

  1. Ghost Ship
  2. Brimstone Dragon
  3. Drudge Spell
  4. Didgeridoo
  5. Mystic Decree
  6. Soraya the Falconer
  7. Willow Priestess
  8. Altar of Bone
  9. Chaos Moon
  10. Curse of Marit Lage
  11. Elemental Augury
  12. Forgotten Lore
  13. Game of Chaos
  14. Illusionary Terrain
  15. Kjeldoran Escort

It was so hard to wittle my list down to only 15 choices but I wanted to pick stuff from a large timespan; I know how you favor older, more flavorful cards!

Throughout the list you'll see things from throughout Homelands, Ice Age, and the like.

Admittedly some were not as strong picks as others in terms of building, but each one I chose for a bit of flavor, and a bit of "hey this card never gets love".

I hope these seem like appealing choices because I think each has a little "fringe-casual-upset-win-at-the-kitchen-table" kinda vibe.

I appreciate the opportunity again and can't wait to hear back from you!

Firstly cause tutoring for a tutor is a waste of of a perfectly good turn and Cause everyone doubts mono red and they think they can get away with shenanigans while my deck durdles away the fist couple turns then BAM! t5-t6 I'm swingin in for the kill on the most dangerous deck, then working my way down, you throw down an ur dragon all eyes are on you from the start, zirilan is about head games, cards like Chaos Moon and Mana Flare(not actually running the flare yet but will soon probly for fun) will mess with your opponents when they try to gain minor advantage off cards you can make lethal, set up a wall of enchantments and artifacts then swing threw with a whole slew of toolbox dragons ready for any situation. On top of all that mono red let's me ramp hard with cards like snow lands/extraplanar lens, the gauntlet, braid of fire, suns, and many more, hope that clears that up :)

Dude - 1,000 points for Chaos Moon. I’m SO GLAD to see someone running it, because it’s one of my favorite all-or-nothing cards.

This is awsome! Been wanting to see some brews with him, one fun card I like in minored is Chaos Moon is dirt cheap($$ wise) and confuses the hell out of your opponents then when it hits you usually win.

Awsome glad you liked the ideas, I often slot many random cards for fun I always like unusual cards they can mess with people's heads, I run Chaos Moon in my mono red just to distract the other player, by the time they read the text they forgot what was going on lol. But yeah a huge part is meta in any deck so always play to that for sure, and yeah if I had a couple pairs of Scroll Rack and Sensei's Divining Top I would replace two cards in all my decks lol. Good luck!

Terrestrial Discharge

Sorcery

Search your library for a basic land card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.

If the revealed card was a mountain, deal 2 damage to any target.

If the revealed card was a forest, target creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn.

Make a card that checks for evens and odds, the way that Chaos Moon does.

Game of Chaos can be fun but requires someone to really play along. Most of the time people will stop after one or two flips. It totally fits the theme but since it requires voluntary participation it usually falls flat. This is really the only card that I would likely replace. I don't think I would switch out Progenitus so I would choose this card for Dragon Mage.

You may consider taking out one of the doubling spells: Fork, Reverberate, or Twincast. They can really be fun because they interact not only with your opponent's spells but your own spells for double the chaos! Maybe just replace one or so depending on what you have in mind.

Chaos Moon can be hit or miss depending on how lively the board state is.

Hey awsome deck i have been heavily playtesting my zirilan deck as well ( Dragon Rain), ive leaned a little more into the dragon storm theme, but some cards you might consider ive had great luck with Lathliss, Dragon Queen is great to pull at your oponents end step, then pull utvara swing for at least 11 and have 3 dragons on the field, and pair that with an early Dragon Tempest and you out right win sometimes. Gratuitous Violence is almost overpowered in this deck, even more insane with Dragon Tyrant , amazing results. Ive also enjoyed , Synod Sanctum , Safe Haven , Chaos Moon , and many others feel free to look at my deck for more, this one gets a +1 from me though
