Cemetery Illuminator

Creature — Spirit

Flying

Whenever this enters the battlefield or attacks, exile a card from a graveyard.

You may look at the top card of your library at any time.

Once each turn, you may cast a spell from the top of your library if it shares a card type with a card exiled with this. (This is a linked ability, linked to the ability in the second paragraph on the card named "Cemetery Illuminator". You may only cast a spell if it shares a card type with the exiled card that was exiled via the ability in the second paragraph.)

Looks like a good deck, a friend of mine has a similar spirit deck.

I am not very good at deck building, but here are some more spirit cards that look cool: Departed Deckhand, Dreamshackle Geist, Dungeon Geists, Hands of Binding, or Nebelgast Herald (might be good with the flash from Rattlechains). Skyline Cascade enters tapped, but lets you keep an opponent's creature tapped for an extra turn. I think my friend has Cemetery Illuminator in his deck. If you exile a spirit from your graveyard it could be a way to have more options to play each turn.

It should be noted that you might have to cast Geistlight Snare for 2 mana sometimes since you only have 4 enchantments, but that should not be too much of a problem.

Again, I am not sure if any of these cards will work with the deck, they are just cards I thought looked cool. Feel free to completely ignore me. :)

Other thoughts are Waxmane Baku, Dungeon Geists, and Nikko-Onna as unorthodox control choices, Skyclave Apparition as a less unorthodox control choice, Cemetery Illuminator, Call to the Kindred, and Kindred Boon with some Myojin, especially Myojin of Seeing Winds. (Most things with Kindred in the name are good for tribal decks.)

Maybe not the Myojin. The new ones don't use divinity counters.

Hey, interesting Zombie theme. There's many excellent cards here, but also way too much filler for a 500+ budget. I presume the wincon here is Captain? With Gravecrawler combos of Altar or Rooftop?

Only 11 ramp sources here with only 33 lands are low numbers for Muldrotha. I don't consider Explosive Vegetation and Circuitous Route playable ramp either with a $100 low budget let alone a higher $500+ budget. There's so many ramp choices that have better interaction with Muldrotha that aren't 4 mana. 3.5 avg. CMC (mana curve) is high for only these numbers too. Something should give? Either add more ramp, add more lands, cut the lesser high CMC cards, or do all this to improve your deck?

To reduce mana curve these are some cards to consider cutting?

Others:

The Spirit tribal theme is not needed here. Some Spirits are fine, if the card is good by itself or helps Muldrotha some other ways and doesn't need other Spirits. There's a reason that Cemetery Desecrator isn't even $1 and is a Mythic rare, it's a terrible card for 6 mana. Drownyard Amalgam is at least not Mythic, but is just as bad for a five drop. You don't need these Zombies, they aren't helping your deck in any way for their mana cost.

It can help to see a deck list that's not 99 cards yet, but has been stripped of a lot of fat. Seeing a list this way can help to smooth the mana curve by adding more cards at certain parts of it that need more such as two drops here. In boarder terms consider more ramp, draw and low mana cost reanimation/self-mill enablers to setup Muldrotha and Zombies?

Good luck with your deck.

Cool Deck, +1 :)
4 Selfless Spirit seem too many considering that there are currently not many mass-removal spells in the meta, you could exchange 2 for Unsettled Mariner.
With 3 Cemetery Illuminator already in the maindeck you have good graveyard hate, I recommend cutting the 3rd Remorseful Cleric for a Blossoming Calm to improve your matchup against burn.

Unfortunately kookoo cards like Gilded Drake, and Spellseeker are too expensive for myself. I do like Cemetery Illuminator a lot and I’ll be sure to find a place for it. Agent of Treachery is cool, but it’s a bit more expensive than I would like for it’s effect. Thank you for the suggestions

Well, I finally picked up a playset of Collected Company, so that's a nice upgrade. I cut the land count to 22 and based on lands off a review of a few other similar Spirits decks.

Some thoughts for future-Coach: - I see a lot of people not running Spell Pierce, so that might be cut for 2x Skyclave Apparition or 2x Cemetery Illuminator, but going to test this out a bit first. - I'm a bit worried I have too much Green in this manabase, but hoping that the Pathways make it flexible and consistent. I'd need to acquire 2x more Hengegate Pathway  Flip, but running it as a 4-of instead of 2-of might be a solution if I have consistent issues with this.

Unfortunately, no. The Cemetery Illuminator re-enters the battlefield with no "memory" of what it had exiled before, and you would need to exile a new instant to library-cast instants. The instant you had exiled earlier will simply remain in exile.
