Moved Agent of Erebos to the sideboard in favor of Fate Unraveler.

Aura control spells added

Matador, 10 years ago

By having more aura control spells, it makes it easier to bring the potential of Sage's Reverie even more as enchantments on opponent creatures are harder to deal with.

Additional information and card explanation

dryrunes, 10 years ago

Edit: I went to two FNMs since I posted this deck and have not done so well, I understand that this is not a high budget deck, but any suggestions would help, specifically to make this deck faster and better against mono-red and the like. I was thinking of taking out Elusive Spellfist and/or Resolute Archangel for cards like Prognostic Sphinx (anybody know anything similar?) also Ajani Steadfast is probably not the best choice for this deck (I am looking to get a Narset Transcendent). I would also know if more counter spells such as Dissipate and Dissolve. My friend used to run a similar deck and used cards like Jace's Ingenuity and Fated Retribution I think that their mana cost is too high but I am not sure. I am also thinking of getting some full-art lands from Zendikar just for the looks, would that money be better spent elsewhere?

I'll try to write out what cards would do what for this deck:

Aetherspouts is one of my favorite anti attacker removal spells, I am looking to get at least one more, if not for my main board at least me sideboard.

Anticipate Quicker card advantage

Dissipate Negate Nullify Counterspells

Divination Card advantage, I used to run 4 but it was to slow

Elusive Spellfist Cheap attacker, this card may be removed first as it might be just a cheap blocker anyways

End Hostilities Board wipe

Icefall Regent Shuts down opponents Creatures and is a moderately sized flier that protects itself

Monastery Siege a better, more versatile Zephyr Scribe

Ojutai's Command versatile spell

Ojutai, Soul of Winter combos well with other dragons

Pacifism Gets creatures out of the way

Pristine Skywise Larger creature that can protect itself well

Prognostic Sphinx Favorite Control creature, want to add more

Resolute Archangel Good for late game if I am losing

Treasure Cruise Late game card advantage

Tranquil Cove Making sure that I have sufficient mana.

Thanks guys!

Deck Edit #1

So I removed 1 Heir of the Wilds from my mainboard and removed 1 Plummet from my sideboard as I probably don't need 4 of them, but I think I might need something better than Plummet for flying defense.

I am going to test with Raise the Alarm and might add it in, and look to replace Great Teacher's Decree or Rush of Battle or both.

I'm also going to look into Valorous Stance and test with it to decide whether I want to add it to my Sideboard or Mainboard.

Thanks to Havok.Bane for the suggestions of Raise the Alarm and Valorous Stance

Although it's the second timeline, they have some knowledge from the era of the khans. Even some knowledge from their dragon master Ojutai.

From Simic to Mono-Green

FAMOUSWATERMELON, 10 years ago

After a bunch of testing, I decided to bring this thing to a Mono-Green build, because that just seems to suit it best. I got Soul of the Harvest getting me cards, we'll see how this version works out!

Added Obelisk of Urd to side.

Had a horrible night at FNM finishing 2-3. One of my match losses was a control mirror UWb, but I had to mull to 5 game 2 and was stuck on 1 land for a LONG time. Other losses were against the a Temur aggro deck in game 3, in which I died holding counterspell, counterspell, crux, crux, crux, ultimate price, bile blight, stuck on 4 lands, while opponent flooded me with value creatures and finished me off with a timely and annoying Surrak Dragonclaw.

Then an Abzan control deck used Stain the Mind to take away my Ojutais game 2 after I tapped out to play Dragonlord Silumgar and steal his Courser of Kruphix. I wanted the value since I wasn't getting good draws. But he managed to kill my Silumgar anyway since he chose to keep in almost all of his removal after SB, and at that point, it was just wasting time until he finished me. Very hard to come back after that.

I feel like I tuned the deck to play the Den Protector/Deathmist Raptor kinds of decks, which I didn't see ALL night. My wins were against a mono green aggro build that was actually pretty scary and another SiegeRhino.dec kind of thing.
