A Few Changes
jackpack22, 11 years ago
I added Temple of the False God for an Island and Crawlspace for Trickbind. I did this to make sure my combos can stay on the field, as well as add some better lands and such for ramp.
Red When HOT
Gibtengal, 11 years ago
Thought this was a great title; but in reality all of this deck is based off turn 1 and after that is nothing else but setup from 1. Spark Troopers do test well with this deck and play well, but subs i recommended to go with losing cards the directly are linked to opponent's play(i.e. Skullcrack, Warleader's Helix, etc.) and sticking to perfect first hands. First FNM results
Crazedsteno88, 11 years ago
Well I'm really pleased with this deck I took it to my first FNM last week and I went 4-0 and won the evening, Ashiok and cyclonic rift removing my opponents battle line from existence and slaughter games just pulling my opens deck apart this deck is a lot of fun, well for me at least.
Changes to Deck Woot!
Dryleech, 11 years ago
After reading the feedback I made a few decisions and purchases. The deck has now been updated to show how its gonna look.
SUBSITUTE
THEROS_CHAMPION, 11 years ago
I have taken out the Brindle Boar and put in two Slaughterhorn in its place. It has added an extra bit of much needed power and gives me the option of whether i want to summon it or use its bloodrush ability. Of course it all depends on the situation.

Goatergy (is it strategy? synergy? IT'S GOATS)
Skyl0rd, 11 years ago
The relatively low mana-curve allows the deck to pound some goats onto the field before most decks get started (assuming they're not a FTW deck or some shit) the enchantments and artifacts that focus on beefing the goats are important, but the higher the cost the less likely to be used (sideboard out Coat of Arms against fast decks, probably for Basilisk Collar to keep the game going and because it works miracles with the provoke mechanic)
If your opponent is good, you probably want to take advantage of mountainwalk that many of the goats have, so Blood Moon might filter into the deck (especially with all the multi-color-generating lands being printed lately)
Magma Jet has been added to give more sustainability and resources for mid-late game.
Goat count reduced by one (sadness!) he will be dearly missed, but he was a Wild Colos so he just wasn't up to par with the others, and I couldn't justify running that many of him.
Goatnapper lost his place in the sideboard and Blades of Velis Vel were removed because they only really worked well if I was already winning (and the Goatnapper thing was silly but ineffectual)
Discussion is reset for convenience of reading/commenting.
Which burn spell?
Dozing, 11 years ago
There is a huge debate in my head on what burn spell I should run. I have playtested Mizzium Mortars, Magma Jet, Clan Defiance, Flesh / Blood, and Lightning Strike. They are all great cards, but I just don't know which one deserves the permanent spot in my deck. All of them have won me games but I guess I'll just have to see what works around my local meta some more.![Thunderbreak Regent feature for Here There Be Dragons [Competitive]](http://static.tappedout.net/mtg-cards-2/TDC/thunderbreak-regent/regular-1743741062.png)

Deck Overhaul
Pr0m3theu5, 11 years ago
Extensive play tests showed me that I needed more aggro, even in midrange. New description and build up.
MInor Card Numbers

After some thought and play testing I preferred on cutting a Mountain for Ponder from the side to main. And for personal tech 1x [Pyroblast] as the only deck I can't beat is the mirror.

BNG Overhaul
notamardybum, 11 years ago
Updated the list with cards I'm interested in getting when Born of the gods is released. Mogis, God of Slaughter looks fantastic, and Revoke Existence is going to be fantastic. the ability to exile thassa, d-sphere, heliod, spear, etc.
Before I made this overhaul I did participate in my last lists FNM where I came in 2nd place in a last round loss to a friend of mine. It was his first win it was a very close game.
1st round: I came out with a 2-1 playing against B/R aggro. Lost because I over commited and he casted Skullcrack shenanigans. other than that It was a fairly easy win
2nd round: went 2-0 against boros. nothing traditional, wasn't very impressive either.
3rd round: went against Boros Burn, a deck my friend has been trying to get together, and it has been working very well. I gave him some Burning Earths right before telling him to put it in. We get paired up and I'm shitting bricks. 2nd game it comes down and i'm dead. goes to game 3 and he squeaks out enough burn spells to kill me.

Major update - Removed coin-flipping stuff, warp world, and fat expensive stuff that didn't do anything. I've played this deck a lot, and those cards were just dead weight. I'm adding in other chaos-y stuff that is more relevant.Jacksonskier, 11 years ago
Still working on sideboard. Any thoughts on W/U, W, or U cards that boost your entire team? I'm thinking Righteous Charge Style

One hitter quitters
bmclancy7, 11 years ago
This deck has specialized on big boys with trample swinging away for the win and it has performed really well.
Enchantments like Gratuitous Violence and Rage Reflection pair well with big boys like Malignus or a later game Mistcutter Hydra among others. Or, take a big boy or two and pop Triumph of the Hordes or Overwhelming Stampede for a one swing win as well.
Also, Defense of the Heart and Tooth and Nail can grab Avenger of Zendikar + Craterhoof Behemoth which usually equals victory. Lots of trample and a fair bit of ramp has made this deck a lot of fun to play.
As always, suggestions are appreciated in line with this theme.
