Maybeboard

Named for that one Yugioh card I built a deck around back in high school. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

I wanted to give landfall a try without going with the typical Omnath or Windgrace route. I also wanted to do a tribal for big ocean beasties OH HEY I CAN DO BOTH.

Fairly simple gameplan: ramp until you get big serpent boi out to trigger extra lands and card draw, which in turn will let you get the big beasties out. Lots of redundancies for ramp and card draw that you should be able to have decent interactions with different board states as well as recover from those board wipes. I did my best to maintain the tribal theme with only a couple of exceptions because they worked really well for the landfall (I'm not perfect OK?!)

Updates Add

This is a weird update as it's a deliberate minor downgrade. This deck ended doing WAY better than I anticipated and even when hate targeted as the biggest threat, it still got quite a bit nuts. So I'm taking out some options to even the playing field for more interesting games while also adding more ocean themed flavor for the tribe. Keep in mind, none of these cards are bad and all have been fantastic to play so if wanting something with both flavor and power, definitely consider keeping them.

Double Major -> Aetherspouts. Double Major being able to give me, say, two Komas is just insane. Aethersprouts is a cheaper, more specific version of Cyclonic Rift because I don't feel like spending the money for Rift and still offers sea flavor. Besides, mana has never been an issue with this deck.

Ashaya, Soul of the Wild -> Bident of Thassa I'll be honest, I've played this deck several times and I never have cast Ashaya and the deck still gets ridiculous with the card draw. This would make it outrageous, no doubt. The Bident will offer some additional card draw (as well as fun removal against the big sea beasties) but without it turning into a game of solitaire.

Zimone, Quandrix Prodigy -> Dragon Turtle Same situation as above, never did get to cast Zimone but I just know she would net me tons more card draw and I just don't need this redundancy. The turtle is a more situational deterrent with the flash but mostly flavor because turtle lol

Beast Whisperer -> Fly The card draw with Aesi alone is enough, and there are other redundancies in the deck. Beast is a solid card that I could simply use elsewhere. Plus, I mean, flying sea beasts just makes me smile.
