Heroic — Whenever you cast a spell that targets [insert creature name], [insert positive effect, usually involving +1/+1 counters]

For a long time now I've been playing around with the "Heroic"-mechanic. I feel like it is so strong, as it rewards you for playing combat-tricks, and also other shenanigans like tapping/untapping. There is a variety of strategies you can achieve while playing around this mechanic and over the last couple of weeks I've had multiple ideas. I play-tested different approaches and got to know what feels like some "unfair" cards, that go really well with this. So with this deck I am trying to combine the advantages of the "Heroic"-mechanic with some really nasty synergies and tricks.

I ended up with some kind of Aggro-Stomp deck. Most of the cards that trigger heroic really well are really cheap, and also the creatures themselves usually can be found at two or three CMC. This is also why the deck is okay with only 20 lands. (Actually I feel like you could go even more aggro by cutting one island & one plains, and replace them with whatever you find fitting. I myself are thinking of cutting one island for one copy of Abzan Battle Priest)

With Aqueous Form you can make any creature a threat! Even a Favored Hoplite can do a decent job at chipping away at the enemies life total, while both cards are sitting at an incredibly cheap one mana.

In my feeling though, the real champions that will carry you to victory, are the card draw mechanics. Battlewise Hoplite's, Gods Willing's, and Aqueous Form's scry will fix your draws by quite a lot. Usually if you don't have any more cards in hand, by some magic you will end up with an Ordeal of Thassa, which will trigger heroic by enchanting a creature, put an extra +1/+1 counter on it by attacking, basically ALWAYS resulting in three or more +1/+1 counters on the enchanted creature, which in turn means that you will sac the enchantment right away and draw some sweet, sweet cards.

Because your deck is packed with combat-tricks like Gods Willing and Triton Tactics, your board is near untouchable and will simultaneously generate more +1/+1 counters and scrys while playing them. (Favored Hoplite is damn near invincible anyways!)

For a long time I struggled with flying creatures, until I found the answer: Abzan Falconer! Suddenly your whole board consists of flying creatures!

Last but definitely not least I want to mention the surprise d*ck-move: Hidden Strings. Hidden Strings (together with the aforementioned Aqueous Form) feels unbelievably unfair, once you get it on the field. What makes it feel that way is the "Cipher"-mechanic! The explanation is on the card, but it is kinda complicated, so I will try to do a (maybe longer, but) simpler explanation:

When Hidden Strings resolves, after the first effect (tapping or untapping two different permanents) happened, you can activate "Cipher" by exiling it, instead of putting it into the graveyard. This will allow you to permanently put an effect on a creature you control. Now Hidden Strings is "encoded" on your creature. This effect says, that whenever your creature deals combat damage to a player, you may cast a copy of the encoded card (this means a copy of Hidden Strings) without paying its mana-cost.

It is important to understand, that this does NOT mean, that you need to have Hidden Strings in your hand and cast that one for free, when the creature it's encoded on deals damage to a player. Instead an invisible, non-physical copy of the spell will be created and cast from exile. That copy obviously also has the "Cipher" effect on it, so you can now encode this copy on a second creature. This effect can snowball into each creature casting you a free Hidden Strings so incredibly fast, that many opponents might actually start to discuss the "Cipher"-effect with you, because they can not come to terms with it being the proper function of the card. In that case check out the rulings of the card for example on gatherer or mtgassist.

Additionally I want you to remember, that you can tap or untap any "permanent", you want! This includes creatures, artifacts, enchantments and also lands (it doesn't matter if they are yours or the enemy's).

The biggest threat in the deck is probably Fabled Hero enchanted by Aqueous Form AND Hidden Strings' cipher-ability encoded on it. As enchantments also trigger heroic, you will end up with an unblockable 4/4 double-striker, that'll also let you scry whenever you attack with it, and that will basically do guaranteed damage to the enemies life total TWICE (becuase of double-strike), therefore also triggering the cipher-ability TWICE. This lets you...

...tap or untap four different permanents

or

...tap or untap two different permanents, and tap AND untap a third one

or

...tap AND untap two different permanents.

Additionally you may use the cipher on BOTH copies of Hidden Strings and encode its effect onto TWO of you creatures, that don't have it yet.

This concludes the explanation for this deck! I hope you can see why this can be a lot of fun to play with, and that you had some fun visualizing the shenanigans mentioned above. Especially when you consider, that this deck is really cheap to acquire!

I live in Germany and even if I put all the cards in the more expensive web-shop of "Trader-Online" I will end up with a total of 56,69€ + ~3€ for the postal service (checked on April 17th 2019). For everyone in the US it should probably be even cheaper.
