cEDH - Tatyova Control Combo

Tatyova is a small card value engine with a high combo potential. You can win as early as Turn 3 or 4 without any interruption. This deck is not scared to play the long game as you will out value your opponent in card advantage as the games goes.

Combos

This deck has multiple way to create infinite loops and one way to create a lot of attackers to win out of no where.

Turn 1 cast one of those dorks - Sakura-Tribe Scout - Skyshroud Ranger - Llanowar Scout - Walking Atlas

Turn 2 cast Tatyova Turn 3 cast Retreat to Coralhelm From there you will go infinite with either Trade Routes or Simic Growth Chamber [or Meloku the Clouded Mirror for infinite spirit and draws]

So here's how the combo works, tap Walking Atlas, play Simic Growth Chamber, trigger Retreat to Coralhelm and Tatyova. Untap Walking Atlas and Draw a card and gain 1 life. Repeat this process until you draw your deck but each time you draw another land play it over Simic Growth Chamber so you have more mana available once you want to cast either Jace, Wielder of Mysteries or Thassa's Oracle [or Laboratory Maniac] for the win.

So it's the same process with Trade Routes, return a land to your hand, tap Walking Atlas to play the returned land, trigger Retreat to Coralhelm and Tatyova. Untap Walking Atlas and Draw a card and gain 1 life. Repeat this process until you draw your deck.

To setup the combo you will need 3 Island on the battlefield, Ramunap Excavator or Crucible of Worlds with a way to play 2 additional each turn... should be easy enough with a deck filled with those effect.

The combo goes as follows, cast Walk the Aeons with buyback sacrificing 3 island, take your extra turn, play 3 island from your graveyard then cast Walk the Aeonswith buyback sacrificing 3 Island. Repeat this loop as many time as it take. If you have Tatyova on the field, you'll be drawing 4 cards a turn until you get a either a Jace, Wielder of Mysteries or Thassa's Oracle [or Laboratory Maniac] for the win.

Alternative way to go infinite Walk the Aeons. This way is counterspell proof. The setup is 3 Island, Mystic Sanctuary, Trading Route. Cast Walk the Aeons, return Mystic Sanctuary, play Mystic Sanctuary return Walk the Aeons on top of your deck. Cute interaction with Mystic Sanctuary and Tatyova, you can choose to put the card on top of your deck then draw a card giving you back the Walk the Aeons on the same tune.

And finally, another alternative to infinite Walk the Aeons. The setup is 3 Island, Mystic Sanctuary, Sylvan Safekeeper, Ramunap Excavator/Crucible of Worlds. Cast walk the Walk the Aeons, sacrifice Mystic Sanctuary with Sylvan Safekeeper, play Mystic Sanctuary from your grave, then return Walk the Aeons to the top of your deck.

Setup is simple, Titania, Protector of Argoth + Sylvan Safekeeper + a lot of lands will usually win you the game out of no where. Each time Titania sees a land go to the bin you get a 5/3, so by sacrificing a land with Sylvan Safekeeper you get a 5/3 each time, repeat this process before you go to your extra turn or at the end of your opponent's before it goes to you. This combo is extremely risky vs cyclonic rift, so make sure you have ways to protect your board or leave a few lands so you can cast counter magic.
I'm not gonna like, this deck is not extremely hard to play, it's all about sequencing and thinking ahead of the curve. So here's a few tips and tricks.

  • If it's possible, cast Tatyova then play your land of the turn so you get immediate walue out of it.
  • Don't be scared to cast Walk the Aeons just to gain an extra turn as these 3 ways in the deck to get it back and sometime you pop off on that extra turn just due to the sheer value playing lands and drawing lands can do.
  • Dryad of the Ilsian Grove makes all your lands Ilands so playing Walk the Aeons sacrificing 3 islands a few times in a row can lead to a win.
  • If you have Tatyova + Sylvan Safekeeper on the battlefield, sacrificing all your lands then play splendid reclamation is pretty much going to win you the game.
  • Don't play Retreat to Coralhelm as people are aware it's part of your combo engine, keep it in had until you really need to play it.
  • Try not to tap out to often in the early game if you don't have the combo, tapping out for our fish goddess is fine however.
  • You should be in the look out for infinite loops in all time as Mystic Sanctuary is your biggest enabler in the deck like Summer Bloom and Gush can go infinite with the land.
All of these loops wins you the game with Tatyova on the field.

Coralhelm Core Land Dork + Coralhelm + Simic Growth Chamber

Coralhelm Alt Land Dork + Coralhelm + Gush/Trade Routes

Trading Core Trade Routes + Mystic Sanctuary + Summer Bloom

Trading Alt Trade Routes + Mystic Sanctuary + Walk the Aeon

Turbo Search Trading Core Mystical Tutor + Blue fetchland, search Muddle the Mixture. Transmute Muddle the Mixture for Trading Routes. Play Trade Route, crack fetchland get Mystic Sanctuary bringing back Muddle the Mixture. Transmute Muddle the Mixture into a Summer Bloom. Now you have Trading Core

Blooming Yard Ramunap/Crucible + Summer Bloom + Sylvan Safekeeper + Mystic Sanctuary

Blooming Yard Alt Ramunap/Crucible + Summer Bloom + Trip Mine + Mystic Sanctuary

Walk the Eternity Core Azusa [or any way to play 2 more lands each turn] + Ramunap/Crucible + Walk the Aeons now look at all these kill condition and see how they all share pieces its super easy to win out of nowhere with this deck

Desperate Win Condition This combo line will win without Tatyova out. Jace + Trade Routes + Mystic Sanctuary + Walk the Aeons

Conclusion

The deck is high power and can compete in cEDH table like a boss. The deck is weak to go sideways strategies such as Najeela, the Blade-Blossom but every strategies have their downfall. As you can see in the maybe board the deck is super malleable and can be tweet to your preference or meta.

Thank you for looking out my deck and hope you get to enjoy it.

Alternative Tatyova List

If you feel this list is not your play style and you'd like to pop harder in the early game, you should try my friend's Tatyova list. The deck can win on turn 3 consistently but is less interactive. I saw him play this deck multiple time and the deck can really showcase some power in the early game if unanswered.
