This deck heavily abuses -1/-1 (and other kinds of) counters to stall your opponents' creatures and grant you some profit on the way. You have to put a -1/-1 counter on one of your creatures to draw cards with Scarscale Ritual? You don't mind, it's a helpful resource for later. You have to put two +1/+1 counters on another opposing creature for exiling one with Cannibalize? You don't care, it won't attack or block anyway from now on. There are lots of shenanigans like this hidden in this deck, so have fun discovering them.
